If you’re looking for a nice tteokbokki place but can’t make the trip to k-town, this place is an excellent choice (arguably better). I’ve eaten here a number of times with my partner and each time we’ve gotten exceptional food and service.
To start, walking in, it’s clean and has a pretty simple set up. They have several tvs showcasing mukbangs and highlighting Halgatteok in other locations in Korea and LA. It’s bright but not super flashy.
We typically get the rose tteokbokki and added noodles and melted cheese. They do have an open bar of toppings if you wish to add more than what was already included (at an extra charge). The spice level 1 is still quite spicy as a fair warning. Unless you enjoy very spicy foods, I would recommend the lowest level. (No one will judge you).
The portion is pretty large. My partner and I share the one order of tteokbokki and still find ourselves unable to finish it, especially if you include sides.
The service is great too! Typically it’s just one person handling the front and the person always checks in on the tables. The staff are great help to those newly exposed to tteokbokki and are very friendly. It took us by surprise the first time because we were not expecting how attentive the staff is. The service we’ve gotten in our experiences surpasses others where you pay at the end.
Overall consistently wonderful experience and would recommend to family, friends and neighbors to check it out...
Read moresurprisingly a very disappointing experience. the coffee latte was confusingly tasteless and had no flavor, not even sugar? the fried chicken was good at first, but even trying to finish it between 2 people was difficult. after a while it was too rich. it has a nice, crunchy texture and that's about it. the dumplings saved for last were the worst part of the experience. I know Korean dumplings have glass noodles as part of the filling and I was excited to try these fried dumplings, as they are cheaper than the dumplings at the Korean place in the same area. however, these dumplings were only noodles. my friend and I did not want to finish them, but we had to get our money's "worth". who sells $5 dumplings with 1 ingredient as the filling? the worker was perhaps the only solid part of the experience. she was kind and attentive at her job. won't be back...
Read moreI heard about this place on instagram once or twice and I became curious about the food and place. I saw it was right across from CSUN and thought, oh easy and accessible, yay!
Came here with a pal and I'm happy to say I had a great experience. Vivian was very cordial and answered all questions we had since it was our first time.
The food was fantastic! Both my pal and I got the same Grandma's Tteobokki (sp?) with Spice Level 2! We may have to get something less spicy next time but honestly it hurt so good. It was so tasty. 😋
I will definitely be coming back. For such tasty food and the amount, it was so well priced and affordable and they give student discounts with ID/canvas dash page! 🙏
The place is really cozy and casual. Very good for busy students and anyone who wants to walk in and enjoy a meal or for takeout! I would...
