I was recommended this place by a friend, and I will be actively discouraging any others recommended to this place. NOT BECAUSE IT IS BAD. This place is just so mediocre and pricey that there are objectively better places to eat.
Let's start with the service: You go inside, grab a menu, interact with the cashier for 2 seconds, then sit down and wait for your food. The servers and cashiers are polite, but that was gleaned from very minimal interaction. 3/5 (didn't really add to the experience in any way)
The atmosphere really drew me in from the outside: big ol' building located off the intersection with a rustic interior. However, the more I looked around, the more I went "uhh, okay?" Like, why is there a gorilla and a skeleton on the wall on one place and some metal 5 pointed stars in another? The music though promoted a nice laid back environment for someone to drop into and get some work done on a laptop. My kind of place.
The food........there are layers to my opinion on the food. First off, of the large variety of food I tried, the only thing to actually stick out in a good way was the peach tart. It was flavorful likely, thanks to the EXTREMELY FRESH fruit (I really liked the fruit), and the texture was absolutely wonderful and well worth the price. As for the other entrees, well worth the price is nnota comment I can give. Flavorless is one of the words that describe the food. My group gave the following comments: "The mac and cheese is just unseasoned macaroni with mild cheddar cheese and roasted breadcrumbs" "The burger is just dry, flaky bread with a slimy, tasteless filling" "The salad was good, the bread was good, the filling was undersold" Again, the veggies and fruit were really fresh. All of this would be fine for an afternoon out, eating with friends if the prices weren't needlessly exorbitant. That interest I had walking inside, crushed by prices that were far too high for the food we got. We're talking an average $25 per person, and I ordered off the quite limited kid's menu. I got to try a little bit of everything at this place thanks to attending with my friends, and I can confidently say that it just isn't worth it. Save your money, and go to an in-and-out or something. But hey, the wait time was...
Read moreThere’s something extremely special about an eatery I can go to repeatedly and not tire of, especially being in the valley where good and new eateries litter every other block. But there’s something almost home-like that keeps my family coming back, and no matter how busy our lives get we can come together and enjoy an organic meal together in a great environment. The Pros: Great organic food! -2 eggs, a bread basket and a side salad…. simple but an effective meal! And of course its tasty. My husband and I always split our choices and when we are feeling extra ravenous we get the ohhhh soo tasty breakfast burrito. Add the mushrooms and thank me later.
Plenty of parking – Streets are tough in LA but living in the valley you can always find neighborhood, street or lot parking and most times for free. Here you have the best of all three worlds and parking is never a source of anxiety here.
AMAAZINGGGGGGG Staff – Everyone here is pretty darn friendly and accommodating. Whether it’s a substitution of veggies for meat OR just indoor vs outdoor seating. For the outdoor seating they are super nice about you being your pooch (or 3 in one of our cases), and for the inside since you seat yourself, there’s always someone going around to help if you may need assistance.
Ambiance – Its super cute here! It’s very spacious and airy with tons of natural light. There’s not a bad seat in sight.
Cons: I cannot say there is a con…. people might complain about the prices, but it’s very comparable to any restaurant with a ton of options for vegetarians and carnivores alike.
Seriously you can’t go wrong here and the only place (ever) I really consider myself being a...
Read moreWe often passed by the place but never had an opportunity to eat there. Finally today on a Sunday we decided to look for breakfast place knowing the wait times will be harsh. We drove by this place and decided to visit. No big lines, easy ordering then sit down with a number and a good amount of tables available. Score! First of all they offer fresh squeezed juices..can't get better than that. We ordered Aloha juice which includes pineapple, apple and pear. Holy juices, one of the most delicious juices ever! Then we ordered caramel latte. Coffee master Jose made us a ridiculous pretty cup of coffee which was absolutely perfect in every way. For the breakfast they have large variety of all kind of dishes, many contain organic ingredients. We got salmon Benedict and breakfast burrito(with perfect side of salsa). We enjoyed it very much. The best part was chocolate chip bread pudding. I wish that they served it warm maybe with a side of ice cream, but it still was perfect. They offer beer and wine as well so it is a perfect place for fantastic brunch or breakfast with some mimosas, or simply delicious food either breakfast lunch or dinner. And the food came really fast too , we didn't have to wait forever like in most places on Saturday or Sunday morning. There is a bunch of parking in their plaza too, so definitely get in there for some goodness, and don't forget the Aloha...
