I won't lie, I've lived at my current location over 14 years n I'm not sure how long Do Toños has been where it's at. But in my 14 years at my location I've never tried Don Toños...until last week. The parking around the place isn't the best. Especially if u happen 2 go when the middle school across the street is getting out. But if u plan on walking there, which u can easily do from just about anywhere in El Sereno, it's no problem. Like I said, it's easy 2 get 2 from anywhere in El Sereno, which is due 2 LA Metro's DASH. It stops rite across the street in both directions, so getting there is quite easy. Once ur there, u go inside n immediately get the sense of that family owned restaurant. It is a small place n the outdoor seating will accommodate at the most 6-8 people, so don't plan on going in a large group. But with the Covid-19 Pandemic u shudnt b going in large groups anyways. Now as far as the food, I had 4 tacos, 2 asada n 2 chorizo, my friend had the chilequiles. Both plates came with the usual lemon, cilantro, onion n salsa (choice of red or green). My friend really enjoyed he meal n was satisfyingly full. My 4 tacos however, were of the small variety n left me wanting more. They were actually a bit smaller than the tacos I usually get at the lil taco stand near the AutoZone. N they were almost double the price. However, the asada tacos were quite delicious. But the chorizo tacos were made with the type of chorizo not made 4 grilling. There is a difference. The type they use is more 4 cooking with eggs. The consistency is not as haerty as the other n it makes it feel like ur chewing a very thick stew. But it did tasted fine. As far as the prices, just b sitting down when u get the check. It's a bit pricey, especially 4 the area. 4 the 2 of us, with tip, the bill came out 2 just over $30. If I just want tacos I can get them much cheaper at the corner stand I...
Read moreGreat place to eat. My wife and I were hungry, and we decided to look on Google for the best rated restaurants in the area since we were far from home. I don't usually like to eat out as much due to the lack of good service, great tasting food, and standard of cleanliness, some restaurants have. But this restaurant hit all three. The service was great and courteous, the food was amazing, tasted authentic with great serving sizes, not too much, and not too little, and the place was neat and clean, I was able to look over their kitchen and everything look put together and shiny as if it was new equipment. The owner seems to put a lot of effort into his restaurant, his food, and his customers. Unfortunately, I live one hour away from this restaurant, but if it was closer to me, I would...
Read morePlace is very small inside but the food is delicious. They have about 4-5 tables and is tucked in-between some other buildings. Its easy to miss.
