As a young family man in the early eighties I often took la familia to EPL for a dinner out. Unlike today we couldn't afford fancy places to dine out. A special occasion being the exception. Back then it was a burrito or burger stand. Chinese food in Chinatown (very special). The local Mexican restaurant that kinda cooked like mom. And finally, you could always count on some chicken estilo Mejicano at El Pollo Loco. These days I'm a little better off and I don't go to EPL as often as back in the day. No more issues with using my credit or debit card on their machines and being double or triple charged on my account because they have new Machines! customer service is very friendly but they stopped still give the red Chipotle Salsa! 😭 not a deal breaker but sad.
You can still dine in if you want but I love taking my food to go so I can watch TV at home while enjoying my Pollo Loco meal.
Anyways it's so refreshing to see the improvements in the restaurant and I am very happy to be back there to buy good again. The chicken taste great like always, just the downside side for me is the no more Chipotle...
Read moreI went to this location yesterday at about 6:ooPM Generally go around noon. Maybe that was the reason. Wanted to try the new Taco/Alvacado Trays. They looked good in the advertisements. Big mistake. I should have stuck with the well done chicken, rice and pinto beans. Whoever thought that cabbage instead of shredded lettuce was a good idea. It's not.
