Double Scoop Waffle Cone / horchata + churro - 5⭐!
Fluffy McCloud's in Echo Park is a hidden gem of an ice cream shop run by some highly creative people. It was a delight to visit their shop to try their fresh, all-natural, handmade ice cream. I am glad I saw them on social media because their unassuming storefront is hard to spot if you don't know what you're looking for. In an era dominated by made-for-social-media 'branding', having a plain but elegant storefront is clever.
The interior of the shop is reminiscent of a classic ice cream parlor but made for the current era. It is charming, quirky, and has a variety of fun details like the classic jukebox decked out with cow horns or the lotto ticket dispenser in the center of their main counter space.
The two clerks running the shop were kind, friendly, and helpful. Another detail I appreciated was that their sample spoons are metal. I had to sample their fresh-milk vanilla because I had never seen something like that before but I settled on churro and horchata for my cone.
The ice cream is fresh, creamy and delicious. From what I gather, they rotate flavors and present them in a glass case like a gelato shop. They have vegan flavors and sorbets. While I was there, I saw a table share a banana split and it was one of the most gorgeous ice cream treats I had ever seen. I wasn't brave enough to try one. I was by myself and would not have wanted to let any of it go to waste.
Echo Park has tough to find street parking but also this area has large parking lots just off Sunset so parking is never really an issue here. If you are here for any of the amazing restaurants in the area, finish your meal with a delicious ice cream treat from Fluffy's. It is...
Read moreI recently visited Fluffy McClouds, an enchanting ice cream parlor that offers a delightful escape into a world of creamy indulgence. I ordered a Neapolitan-style sundae, and I was blown away by the mouthwatering flavors. Each scoop was a perfect blend of rich, organic ingredients, making every bite a pure delight.
The ambiance of Fluffy McClouds is truly unique, with an antique charm that adds a special touch to the overall experience. The warm, nostalgic decor made me feel like I had stepped back in time, adding to the joy of savoring such high-quality ice cream.
One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to sample different flavors before making my final choice. This thoughtful touch reflects the parlor's commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft, providing excellent customer care from start to finish.
Overall, Fluffy McClouds offers top-notch ice cream and an unforgettable experience. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, organic ice cream in a charming,...
Read moreFirst of all, customer service was awful. The lady at the counter (young, dark hair, pink apron) was on her phone and seemed annoyed by customers. We came in on a sleepy weekday afternoon and it was dead. So why couldn't she have been pleasant to the few customers she had? I noticed multiple customers trying to be friendly to her and she was being short and had an irritated attitude.
This place doesn't offer sizes (which I was informed of with an attitude ofc). You're paying $8 for a scoop of regular ice-cream. The flavors are basic. The juke box was too loud.
The waffle cone was big and decent, I'll give it that, but you can get a good waffle cone lots of places. I'd recommend checking out "Scoops" in Chinatown. That's our usual spot and I was disappointed we didn't just go there today. Scoops is half the price and better. It has interesting, exotic flavor combinations along with the basic ones, size variety, friendly workers. Fluffy's literally had nothing special except for pretentious vibes and overpriced ice-cream. So if you're into that sorta thing I guess this...
