I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Green Table Cafe on our interview date.
L.A. has numerous neighborhood pockets where a quick turn around the corner can lead you to a mish-mash of event venues, shops and cafes. Mid-City is absolutely no different, and is the home to Italian plant-based cafe Green Table Cafe. Created by a pair of holistic nutritionists, there is plenty of guilt-free food and drink choices for you to choose from when you pay the shop a visit. Healthy versions of familiar faves such as pasta, burgers, and quiche paired with superfood bowls and gourmet salads give even the pickiest of visitors something to crave, with vegan desserts rounding out the menu to end your stay on a high note. But first, coffee!
Green Table Cafe serves up a combination of classic Italian-style recipes, which includes the Macchiato Fior di Latte, and modern go-tos like matcha and chai lattes. If youâre stopping in for a beverage that is bit more on the healthier side, look no further than their impressive list of organic smoothies, fresh juices and elixir shots. Since I had time to kill before Zylesâ first show at The Mint, which is quite literally across the street, I got myself a refreshingly intriguing Bella Vespa juice that consisted of orange, carrot, ginger, cayenne, lemon and aloe vera, AKA the perfect mini boost of energy without bouncing...

Food! The food is AMAZING!! Everything is vegan but regardless if you are vegan or not you will not be disappointed. Good food is universal. I have tried nearly everything at this point and I have not found one thing I don't love. Despite being massively different. There super food bowels are amazing. Not all of them have acai in them but if you like acai bowls I guarantee it will be one of the best you've had. I've tried a fare few and non are close. They are also really big and a full meal on there own.
Drinks! I'm from England and my farther is Italian. So we grew up on good quality espresso coffee. Which is harder to find in America. The coffee here is amazing. They also do good chai lattes and really amazing smoothies. So all basses are covered.
Atmosphere. Not to big not to small. Loads of natural light from huge windows. A must for me to stay anywhere long. They also have outside seating. It is owned a run by a lovely couple who came up with all the recopies themselves. As well as being professional and clean it still feels family run and that personal touch is a lot of why I feel comfortable and happy to spend my time here. If you've gotten this far in reading then i'm sure I will see your face around you new favorite cafe. You're...
Read moreI've got to tell you. I have found another gem here. If I decide to go totally vegan, this would be the place that would open my mind to the possibilities! I just happened to be in the area doing some business and The Green Table Cafe caught my eye. I decided to come in & see what's going on here. I ordered the Spinach Artichoke Melt w/the Lentil Soup & the Muni Moroccan Mint Tea. The Spinach Artichoke Melt is made with vegan sausage, marinated artichoke hearts, vegan cream cheese, spinach & garlic butter on a pressed bun. A whole lot of flavors here! The vegan sausage has a light, smoky flavor that I really like. It's the first time I had marinated artichoke hearts which had a very good flavor & compliments the smooth, creamy, flavor of the vegan cream cheese. Add to the fact with the spinach, garlic butter & the pressed bun, your tastebuds will sing your praises! It also came w/baby greens light drizzled w/olive oil; a very tasty compliment to your meal. To top it off w/my Mumi Moroccan Mint Tea with its very smooth, relaxing flavor; I guess I found heaven a little sooner than I thought! The restaurant has very relaxed, fresh, farmhouse type of atmosphere that you want hang out and relax. A spacious and cozy atmosphere to be in. There's also outside sidewalk seating if you want to be in the fresh air. The staff is very helpful, informative and attentive. If you enjoy vegan cuisine or thinking about trying it, I think you'll be pleasantly...
