Kind Grounds — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Visited on 3/15 and had a great experience. I decided to go back the following day (3/16) and had the worst experience. The old woman at the register was so rude for no reason. She had an attitude because I brought in a sandwich with me that I planned to dump which is why I brought it inside to begin with. She rudely stated I couldn’t bring in outside food even though I never showed any intention of eating it on their premises. When I ordered my drinks, I asked for a pup cup and was charged a $1 for it which made me feel irritated because their sign said it was a “voluntary donation.” It’s not voluntary if they force you to do something you don’t want. I donated the previous day because I was asked if I wanted to donate, but having someone force it on me isn’t my vibe. Also, paying $1 for a shot of canned whipped cream each time we visit is wild. loved the coffee here and the PIES especially. very nice they had a type of pie for both meat eaters and non-meat eaters. My husband got the shepherd's pie while I ate the mushroom one. so good. def coming back just for the pie, even though for the size it was a little expensive 11$~ . Depending on your appetite, it couldve been just the right amount (me) or slightly bigger (my husband).

the coffee was also very good. we added in honey which had a fruity hint to it.

i dont think this location is the best though - i dont imagine theres a lot of foot traffic and there aren't a lot of things around except a small corner shopping center. however, there are apts nearby so maybe it gets more customers than i realize. we only saw this place driving by bc there was a crowd outside...

Decided to stop by this shop because I saw that they hosted events throughout the week! They had trivia, coffee tasting and so much more! I tried out the coffee tasting w a friend- it was such a great way to catch up with a friend over coffee but try something new. Darwin was super knowledgeable and taught us so much- a fun casual way to spend a weekend afternoon with a friend and in such a cute store front :) the coffee was also delicious!
