Kopan Ramen — Restaurant in Los Angeles

The ramen here has a strange film that forms over the top of the broth - maybe some cheap thickening agent? The red miso broth is creamy but not the way miso usually is. Both the black ramen and red miso ramen textures were wrong. The chasu pork was very low quality and my egg was completely hard boiled, not soft. Overall, some of the worst ramen I've had not out of a packet.

The service here is deplorable. The waiter dropped half a tray of water glasses on my friend and did not apologize or comp any of his meal. We had to flag him down several times for more water refills, and the orders were all screwed up when they came out. Definitely go to any other ramen place...

Happened to be working off site today in the neighborhood. I previously past Kopan Ramen and caught my attention. Today on my lunch break I made sure to stop in. I've also been dealing with a horrible cough too so broth was something I definitely needed.

I ordered the red dragon ramen as part of my combo lunch special. I selected the seafood gyoza as my side. The red dragon is rated spicy and indeed it is, but in a manageable way, if you like it spicy. The broth was delicious and very coating for my throat. The noodles were good. The house spicy ramen is very good. 4.25 stars. The Panko Shrimp was surprisingly good. A 4 star side. The Black Miso ramen was ranked “good” and there is a Veggie Ramen house special option so my Honey will be coming next time.

Bring the family, it’s a no brainer. They will have something for you and your most picky eaters. Just be prepared for bad breath. The soup is very tasteful, but I’m going to say garlic is a staple.
