I'm sorry to say that a place that was a staple during my single days through my 20's, all the way through marriage and kids that are now grown, has hit it's ugly end. I raised my kids in this restaurant, it's the only one they wanted to go to. Food used to be excellent, and the bill made sense for what you got. We never hesitated to go. But the last four years was difficult. We went to the Brentwood location and this Westwood location, although less frequently, at least once every month, but we noticed how the food quality slightly dropped while the price went up and the service suffered. That's okay, every relationship has its ups and downs, not to mention what we all went through. But then we noticed that it was no longer any fun because we didn't feel welcome nor taken care of anymore, and CPK expected to be well paid for that. CPK wasn't alone in this, but this stood out to us like a family member who decided they just didn't like us anymore. A month ago I went to the Brentwood CPK and had such a bad service experience (basically non-existant) that I actually sat down and wrote an email to the management... not to get a refund or even a discount on the next meal, but to let them know and to beg them to make it better so we wouldn't regret to continue going there. Sorry to say, tonight at Westwood it was worse. Three of us sat down, and although not friendly were waited on in relatively short order, but we waited 45 minutes for our food without a waiter visit, and when it came it was cold and tasteless. I asked for some Cholula sauce since my pizza was so dry. For the next hour and a half I waited for the sauce or even a stop by from the waiter. Nope. We had to ask the guy sweeping the floor to take our check. Never saw the waiter again. The food is below average and getting worse, the cost is ridiculously high, and the wait staff hates their job so badly that they take it out on us. Good thing that you have the frozen food business, because the restaurant thing is no longer your passion. Sorry CPK, it was a good run,...
Read moreAs a customer coming into a restaurant the experience is a 2 part thing. The first half is the service you receive, the other half is the way the food taste. There are many California Pizza Kitchens that surround me. This is just a location I will not visit again. I had taken my daughter to the Botanical Garden for her birthday and decided we would come here to eat. The service was not up par. They were not friendly at all. Our servicer was not polite. I had a table of 5 and was only brought out four breads I asked the server if they could bring one more so that we could each have one after he took our order. He left and didnt come back With the request, ok no big deal. Finally a busser came out with our order. I asked for bbq sauce for my daughters chicken nuggets, she said she would let me server know. We waited for the sauce and noticed they hadn't brought utensils out, so my daughter started her meal while we were waiting for her sauce. The busser came out with the sauce and my daughter was almost done with her meal and we asked the utensils at the point. We ate, the server finally came back I asked him in spanish if they could come sing happy birthday so that my daughter could be surprised ( my daughter does not speak Spanish) the server then replies to me in english that they don't sing happy birthday anymore but they can put a candle on the Sundae. So I agreed. The the dessert comes out. We all finish and are waiting for the check. We had already been there for a long time, so we had to get up and wait by the door to ask for our check. The whole experience was pretty much unreal as I am writing this review I am realizing more and more how unprofessional the service was. I love California Pizza Kitchen i will just not be returning to this specific location again EVER. I don't not...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences in my life. We have waited for our order for 50 minutes, nobody came to check on us. They didnt even fill the water glasses. It is just the water you can not be serious with keeping customers thirsty ! Nobody cleared out the plates nor asked if we needed anything else, in any standards this is not acceptable from a franchise like that. If I needed a service like this I would have gone to the McDonalds. When I checked the other tables they had a bread plate but of course we didnt even had that for 50 minutes. Really poor service. Food quality was good but then even though we had %10 off from the cards that only the manager can open they didnt use that when they are charging us then we asked them to correct it. They have gave us an invoice with corrected charge but before that they had already issued the payment from the original price. WORST WORST WORST location WORST STAFF. Also the cards that says you can win up to 50.000$ but only a manager can open it are a SCAM. On the card it states that you can have a manager open the card without a purchase but of course host wouldnt let anyone for this and just told people they HAD TO DINE IN to open the cards . They have serious discipline issiues that reauires supervision from the CPK. You can not lie to the customer about this “reward card” when it states clearly that no purchase is necessary. And if you do just provide a good service!!! This is a location just near the UCLA and it may get crowded yes but nothing will justify the poor service and lies being served by this...
