As a coffee enthusiast, I'm always excited to try new places in town, and Élysée Café was no exception. The moment I stepped inside, I was taken aback by its beautiful interiors and charming ambiance. However, my experience soon turned sour due to the subpar service I received.
I was attended to by a tall lady with brown hair, who seemed to be in a bad mood from the start. Her attitude was far from welcoming, and she was not at all interested in providing the hospitable service one expects in a cozy coffee shop like Élysée.
To make matters worse, she gave me the wrong change, which caused me to waste precious time sorting out the issue. Although mistakes happen, her dismissive demeanor and unwillingness to apologize or correct the situation left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Running a business, especially in the service industry, requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction. It's unfortunate that this was not the case during my visit to Élysée Café. Hospitality should always be a priority, and it is crucial for staff members to understand the significance of treating customers with respect and kindness.
Despite the café's appealing aesthetics, I cannot overlook the poor service I received. I will likely opt for Le Pain Quotidien down the street for my future coffee outings, where I hope to find the warm and attentive service that I was sorely missing at...
Read moreOkay my coffee standards are higher than most of my ex-girlfriends' expectations. And deliver about as much. But let me tell you—this place delivers.
First off, can we talk about Elia? Ladies and gents, she's serving good looks and great mochas. God was having a really good day when he made her. But unlike most pretty girls who've rejected me and my life, she's actually the sweetest person ever.
This girl makes an iced mocha that'll make you wanna be monogamous. I took one sip and literally said out loud, "Where have you been all my life?" The couple next to me thought I was hitting on them. Maybe I was.
The vibe in this place? Fly. Or whatever word the cool kids use these days for both "chill" and "sophisticated".
You walk into this french cafe feeling like a regular person. You walk out feeling like a regular person with a caffeine buzz.
So yeah, go to Elysee. Order a mocha from Elia. Sit there and pretend you're in France working on your screenplay like everyone else in Westwood. But unlike them, you'll actually be enjoying yourself because you're drinking liquid mythology and being served by an angel.
And yes, I will be coming back tomorrow. Or would that be weird? If not maybe the next day. And probably the day after that. I don’t know I’ll ChatGBT what’s...
Read moreOur order took over 45 minutes to get to our table. I had the Cobb salad but the turkey was from a pressed turkey breast and was sliced so thinly that I missed it completely until digging through the lettuce, which was very fresh, looking for it. I do not recommend the Cobb salad at all. Also their balsamic dressing was yellow and tasted like citrus, odd. My DH antipasto salad was fair at best. The worst part of the meal came when a homeless person harassed us several times. It escalated and no one at the restaurant noticed at all. We ended up running away with our lunch unfinished. Not a good experience! I've had lots of dealings with homeless people. Most just want to talk or be acknowledged. I've only had one other time sitting outside that they became aggressive. The owner of the restaurant was quick to intervene and we went on with our lunch. It would also help if the young man taking our orders took his ear buds out so he could hear us without speaking extremely loudly. I understand that help is very difficult to get and we are willing to wait for our food. My husband had to go into the restaurant to pick up our salads that stood waiting on the counter. Over all I do not recommend this place when there are others nearby. They did have...
