I want to thank a kind stranger who was about to take the B-line to Hollywood in 3.8.2025.
Around 8:40 PM tonight, I had a terrifying experience on the Metro 20 bus in LA. I was riding the bus home from near UCLA when a drunk stranger sat next to me and tried to talk to me. I pretended not to understand English, but he tried to touch my phone, and I was really scared. So, I moved to a seat near a girl in the front. Unfortunately, the girl got off the bus shortly after, and I noticed that the drunk man was still staring at me. I became very frightened and decided to get off the bus too, even though I hadn't reached my destination. After getting off, I saw that the drunk man also got off. When I tried to get back on the bus, other passengers thought I was cutting the line, and I couldn’t get back on. I became even more anxious and had no choice but to quickly run to a more crowded place. I ran to the entrance of a restaurant called Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and immediately called an Uber. At this point, the drunk man was not far from me, and I wasn't sure if he had seen me, but at least I could take shelter inside the restaurant.
Just when I felt helpless, a man walked towards me. At first, I was very scared, thinking that he might also want to harm me, and I felt even more panicked. I quickly explained to him that I was being followed by the drunk man. He understood and told me that he was a security worker (I only understood the words “Security” and “Office”). He said he noticed that the drunk man was following me, so he also got off the bus and showed me his business card to reassure me. (I’m not sure if I understood everything he said correctly). I was so nervous that I almost forgot what he told me, but he stayed with me the whole time until I got my Uber. Even when the Uber driver stopped to use the bathroom, he stayed with me until I safely got in the car, reminding me not to ride the bus alone at night.
I was too nervous to thank him properly, and my English isn’t very good. But his company really helped me go from shaking all over, almost to tears, to finally getting safely into the Uber. I’m truly grateful to him, and I felt so relieved and touched.
I hope this brave man has a smooth career, a peaceful and happy life, and good luck will always be with him.
I will always remember this kindness, and it will be an unforgettable memory for...
Read moreThis is a revolving sushi bar where sushi arrives on a conveyor belt and you take what you want. It’s fun to try out for the novelty and the system encourages you to grab more plates to earn a prize. You earn a prize after eating a certain amount of plates and dumping them in the special chute on one end of the table that collects the plates. Definitely more worth it to check this out with friends, it seems like 4 people can fit comfortably to each of the smaller tables. Depending where you sit, you might not end up with much variety but thankfully there is an overhead special belt and digital tablet where you can order more of what you desire for express delivery. Also on the tablet, you can order foods that they might not carry on the standard conveyor belt. This place was moderately busy on a lunch weekend. Definitely worth checking out for the novelty. The staff are really nice and patient with greeting and checking in, they also gave us a ball because the machine at our station was jammed when trying to collect our prize. The ambiance is generally a bit isolated with our group having some privacy, there is music that plays overhead and nothing unpleasant to write about. There is parking somewhere in the back that might be paid parking but there happened to be street metered parking at...
Read moreDelicious sushi. Easy parking in the building’s lot. It’s smaller than the other locations I’ve been to, and service was super slow on getting our drinks and refills… it looked like there were only 2 servers working. Went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t too busy that we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in.
Favorite plates are the Seared Salmon with Japanese Mayo, Seared Salmon w/ miso cream cheese, Dashi Olive Salmon, and the crispy rice with crab mayo. Every time I come here with people, we try not to eat too much of anything before so that we have a bigger appetite to eat more here. Since everything is priced per plate, it easily adds up, but the food is just too good to resist.
Haven’t tried a lot of their other items because I mostly just enjoy the ones I already know I like. (I had the squid before and didn’t really care for it… too salty and rubbery)
It’s also neat that whenever you reach a certain plate count, you receive a prize from the toy machines. It doesn’t personally matter to me, but it’s fun for kids and people who love anime. I’ll definitely be back since it’s the closest...
