Great Mexican food in a casual, family-friendly emviroment. Dine in or take out, Maria's also offers very affordable catering for your next event.

Happy Hour Street Tacos or mini quesadillas $1 each 4pm-10pm daily! You won't find a better deal than that anywhere in Pedro.

Situated on the SW corner of Pacific & 22nd, nestledhomeCD between the laundromat & a discount store, Maria's is located just a stone's throw from the Marina, & Cabrillo Beach. It's the perfect pitstop on your way from a day in the surf, sand & sun, or to grab a quick, homestyle bite while you wait for your clothes to dry.

Super friendly staff always greet you with a smile & tell you what the daily specials are. Back in the kitchen, your food is prepared WHEN you order it! NOTHING is made in advance & kept under heat lamps. So your meal can be customized just the way you like it.

Negatives: The salsa bar is adequate, but leaves much to be desired. No public restroom.

I find myself taking full advantage of the Happy Hour $1 menu at least once, sometimes twice per week. Also the two mini bean & cheese burritos, fries & a fountain drink for $5 is a great deal on a stick to your ribs plate of food.

Busy almost every night, but I've never seen them run 'completely out seating in their two dining rooms. They really make you feel...

I've started to not like Mexican food in Long Beach it's typically dry and they just have beans and rice and everything but this was in San Pedro so I thought I would give it a try, I had to wait about 40 minutes for my food but it looks like everybody understands that you have to call ahead because people kept coming in and grabbing their pink bags ahead of me, it got very annoying but I wouldn't lower the rating because the food is really good and they go all out!

My new favorite dish their is the carne asada burrito well I guess it's two dishes the carne asada burrito and the 2 chile rellenos, I believe there is only beans in the carne asada burrito but you can't really tell it's a really good type of Bean and it's mixed really well with the meat and very very juicy, a very unique flavor of meat as well I believe it's marinated or something like that oh, and the Chili's are out of control good we also give you chips on the side and the salsa is excellent!

They give you a full bag with chips and rice and beans and everything, and like I said a quick note about the salsa it is just the right amount of hot it gives you a little heat through your nostrils but it goes away quickly a very high-quality...

Service was amazing..the girls worked fast and friendly. They brought out chips and salsa for the wait while we waited..which wasn't long. We ordered 2 wet burritos, tacos and pancakes with eggs. The burrito was cover in cheese and the green sauce was thick, no salt needed..could have been a tad bit spicier but still good. The burrito comes with the rice on the side, which I liked, but you can ask for it inside. It could of had a bit more meat but it was well seasoned the beans weren't overpowering and did have the pico-de-gallo inside. Chorizo/asada tacos were bomb and had meat overflowing over two tortillas so you were able to make more. The pancakes were big and soft and omg soo good. Eggs were scrambled and good too. We were traveling on Sunday and everything was closed except for this small place at a corner shop. They were definitely taking a lot of orders over the phone and still managed to have our food out in less...

I've heard good stuff from the locals about this place so I stopped in to try it while waiting for my laundry. I don't know what part of Mexico these recipes are from but the flavors are very different from the standard around L. A. and I don't hate it. The kids plate had a healthy amount of food which I appreciated, and there was not an up charge for an agua fresca. I had chips and salsa, the salsa had an interesting undercurrent I cannot identify, maybe a little Chipotle in the basic red salsa? Not sure. The spice level was good though. Defenitely not watered down. I had a cheese enchilada in red sauce and the red sauce almost tasted like a mole. Maybe there was some chocolate or something sweet in the red sauce. Maybe tamarind. IDK. It was unexpected, but I don't dislike it. The rice and beans were pretty standard, so those were def good. I will be finishing my leftovers later. So, overall a good place to try.

When I'm in town and want good solid nachos, this is my go-to place. The nachos serving is generous, especially for someone like myself with a huge appetite. I usually prefer AL Pastor as the choice of meat, and with everything on top. The salsa is flavorful and not overly spicy. The price is right for the portion, which is a plus. It's worth mentioning that their soft tacos are really good. And after 5 pm, they're only $2.25/taco. Well worth it (pictured also). Their breakfast plates are great too, chorizo n eggs, and huevos rancheros (eggs ranchero), which is a favorite breakfast of mine. But still, I always prefer the nachos.
