For every negative review I write, I also have to write a neutral/good review.

This one's the negative one.

I just started keto and can't eat rice at the moment (which is the love of my life). Their sashimi menu is VERY limited. And although sashimi is only sushi without the rice, I was forced to have to order the sushi w/ rice for the fish that I wanted although I couldn't consume it. So I figured I'd just consume the fish and leave the rice, since they were so insistent in giving me the rice although I told them I could NOT eat it.

I also ordered uni, but it took them 10 minutes to come back only to tell me that they were all out.

THEN while I was obviously having an important conversation w/ my GF, the rude lady server decided it's a good time to interrupt my conversation to tell me that there's a charge for the rice that I left behind (which is only about a 1/2 a cup and irrelevant). SO now I'm not in a good mood, PLUS why didn't they mention this earlier when I told the server that took my order that I she could serve me the rice, but I wouldn't eat it?

I'm a reasonable guy. I paid whatever the extra fee was (even though it also took them another 10 minutes to give me my bill) and just handed my card to the server and told her to just charge it without me looking at the list because I was just done at this point.... I tipped 15%, but I should have tipped about 10%.

I'm a reasonable person. And reasonable enough to not go back after being charged an unreasonable fee for a half a scoop of leftover rice which I...

Had a great Sushi dinner at Midori Sushi in Encino last night! It's been one of my favorite places for 20 years and hadn't been in months. They have plenty of outdoor seating in front of the restaurant with tables spaced nicely apart and lots of space heaters to keep you warm!. There was noone else there for the first 25 min I was there at 7pm. So please hit them up! Service was excellent. Sushi was fresh and delish. They don't have all you can eat(AYCE) right now. But, they do have these 2 great combo options!! I chose the first one - $39 which was a great deal and less $ than the 2 rolls and 2 apps I wanted, had I ordered them a la carte, so I went for it. It came with guest choice of 2 pieces each of 4 different Nigiri(piece of fish over rice), 2 of their wide variety of appetizers, 2 of any of their regular or special rolls. I was so full I took one whole roll and my delish grilled teriyaki salmon appetizer home! I loved that I got to choose the sushi, that I wasn't stuck with anything. Side note, the avocado was so perfectly ripe in my shrimp tempura roll. The whole roll was so tasty!! Remember Midori is Not snooty fancy omakase, but it is a delicious, elevated AYCE(when avail) neighborhood restaurant with...

I had been craving some all-you-can-eat sushi, so on my birthday, I visited Midori with my family and a couple friends. We had a great time and the food was very good! It is pricey, and I was very disappointed that they didn't include sashimi in the all-you-can-eat price. That's exactly what I had been craving... but the orders of sushi are pretty close, so it wasn't that bad. Additionally, it would have been cool if the dessert was included as well, which it wasn't. Only because again, it's pretty pricey.

We did hit happy hour, so the drink specials were great! A pitcher for 7.95! That was a great find. The waitress was very nice. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. There is a parking lot in the back, so no need to use the meters out front! The food was excellent! They had a ton of rolls that were amazing and the sushi was great too. Even their edamame was great! They had a nice sweet and salty thing going on.

I wish I could afford to...

This has pretty much become our go-to after work. Been here at least once a week for the last 3 weeks 🙈 We only ever get the AYCE. From the first time to the more recent times, we have learned not to overstuff ourselves... because that’s just never a fun feeling after and I feel less rushed, surprisingly enough 😅 My husband has fallen in love w/ the sashimi here... that’s surprising, coming from a guy that would NEVER touch a slab of raw fish; even though he’ll eat specialty rolls 🤷‍♀️ Definitely order the halibut sushi 🍣... unfortunately, I didn’t get a pic 🤦‍♀️ oh, well... there’s always next week 😅 Service here has usually always been great. There are those one-off moments but whatcha gonna do? As long as it’s not too bad and it’s not consistent... I just say, “eh” 🤷‍♀️ it happens. And it’s always nice when they remember you... human connection is always important 😌

Midori is definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in the valley. Affordable and quite a large variety of sushi and rolls. Here are pros and cons Pros - Food is actually great. Everything from rolls to sushi - Interior is quite nice. They added more space outdoors. - The chefs are great. Servers are nice but can sometimes lag. - Price Is affordable Cons - Servers are extremely nice but can sometimes lag hard. - No more AYCE post pandemic Other than that, sushi is great and service is usually on points
