A silverlake staple with all the pros and cons of a diner.

We really love seeing the hustle and bustle of Millie's from across the street. In the trendy Silver Lake neighborhood, there is so much charm in the historic Millie's diner that has people standing in line, with waiters fast walking around right corners, and a hot pot of coffee always somewhere around filling up coffee.

We have gone multiple times, and we always enjoy the atmosphere and food, but really it's the service that's exceptional.

They have a huge menu with all the typical breakfast foods, it definitely is a little overwhelming but it's great for a family and they have vegan options as well.

This last time I got the Bird n Egg sandwich which was a new special. I liked it, but it wasn't incredible. The chicken was cooked fine, and the pink sauce on it was good, but it was drenched with the sauce and was a little overwhelming. The sandwich bread was good, but it all kinda was falling apart.

I would definitely be much more forgiving, however it was a 16 dollar sandwich. The only downside of Millie's is for how great the history and charm is, you are paying slight more than diner prices for a diner experience.

Across our table we say people order Chilaquiles and that dish looked amazing. My wife got the Breakfast Sandwich and was stuffed. They definitely are generous in their servings.

However, our tables didn't have the napkins and ketchup, so we had to awkwardly ask the table next to us to see if we could borrow theirs

You can definitely have a great time though, and we will definitely come back and try something new each time. I hope this place stays in Silver Lake forever, it makes Saturday mornings...

I've definitely had A LOT better than this place. It really doesn't impress at all. I guess I expected a lot more from a place that has such high ratings on Google and Yelp.

It's very crowded, but we were able to get seated outside right away. The outdoor seating feels a bit awkward, as it's practically right there on the sidewalk with people trying to shuffle past your table. All the tables are also very close together, so it's hard to not overhear other people's conversations or have people overhear yours. Not something I'm big on as a rather introverted person, personally.

The food is pretty much middle-America diner sort of quality, so I really don't understand why the hipsters around here would rate it so highly. I liked the potatoes, to be fair! But the omelette and the pancakes were both very underwhelming, and had very little flavor to them. Also, the drinks here were so SMALL and EXPENSIVE. $5 for probably the smallest orange juice in the world. I understand mark-up on drinks to improve a restaurant's profit margins, but this was a bit too ridiculous for my taste.

The service was pretty good, a bit slow at times, but they seemed attentive and efficient for the most part.

All in all, more of a disappointment than a pleasurable experience. I know many other reasonably priced brunch spots in the Silver Lake and Los Angeles area to hit up instead, so I probably won't be...

Favorite Place to take anyone for Brunch. All of the options. Meat, Veggie, Plant based. Biscuits and Gravy is my top. Always fresh and hot.

Highley Recommend this Brunch spot. Breakie or Lunch. This place has deliciousness for the whole Fam. Great place to people watch as well. Weather your a local or new to LA this is the perfect place to meet all folks in-between. I wish they weren't so expensive now but honestly its still worth it. I love to order off menu a Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Vegan Milkshake to start along with an order or biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits are crispy on the out side soft and buttery on the inside. If you want to make it a meal just add an egg and sausage. So yummy. The Usual is a Top Favorite so are their Bennidicts esp. With those rosemary potatoes. And don't forget to get a stack of Pancakes to split, Sweet Potato, Banana Walnut, or Blueberry are my favorite.

Been coming here for over a decade. Bring my kids here. It will forever be our Family Breakfast spot.

Reminder to Support Local. Support Small Businesses. And Tip your Servers. Keep in mind everyone working at Millies puts a lot of love in care in the service they give you.

ShotOut to Janet. She was my server the last time I was their and she was incredible. Appreciate all the staff. Their always friendly and very attentive.
