Read moreOMG...I might be obsessed with this place! The food is SO GOOD! My family and I are staying in the Sherman Oaks area and happened upon this place when we thought we wanted Italian foe dinner...turns out, we wanted Italian AND Hungarian! Let's start with the vibe of the restaurant...it's bright and fun! There's lots of local art on the walls and it feels crisp, but not pretentious. We ate inside, but there's also patio seating. Now, the food...it was amazeballs! I had the tarragon soup and it was loaded with wonderful herbs and veggies and so flavorful! My husband had the sour cherry soup and we all loved our soups so much we ended up passing them around the table! I also wanted to pace myself for my main course. I selected the chicken cutlets...and it was also tender and perfectly flavored. The chicken has a lovely sauce and comes with a sautéed spinach. My meal was a combination of Hungarian for the soup and Italian for the main course and it all paired wonderfully. My husband had the curd cheese plum dumplings and that was also delicious! We pretty much lived in each other's plates. My daughters had the lasagna and the Margherita pizza...and they were equally delighted. We also had the amazing somloi trifle...and it was a yummy sponge cake with layers of a chocolate goodness...and walnuts and whipped cream! #Delish As for the service...it was very warm.😊 I felt, while here, that IF I lived in LA...they'd just know our whole family. Every suggestion that we were given was spot on and they were both very friendly and personable. IF you are able to, GO HERE...and try all of the things! This place, on every level, was...
Read moreThis restaurant could easily reach a 4 if we decide to visit again. The food was decent, pretty good in my opinion. My partner opted for Hungarian food and was less satisfied than I was. (I recommend the lasagna) The reason for a 3 was because of my experience with the service. Nothing particularly awful but many odd moments which left us with a weird feeling when we left lol. Our food took around 30 minutes from ordering to arrive which would have been fine if they had just been honest and told me that my lasagna would take longer instead of making it seem like it would come out as fast as the other dishes did for other parties. Usually places inform their patrons of longer waits for certain items. But then what made me feel really uncomfortable was that we kept getting asked to get more items than we wanted. Our waiter was kind but was obviously pushing an appetizer on us to split around 3 times when we said we didn’t rlly want it. Then around the end of our food, another lady who cleaned our dishes also asked and sort of insisted we have dessert. We said no and I even had leftovers to take home, then another lady (maybe a chef?) she asked us if we also wanted dessert again. It just was like ok, idk how to say no anymore without making it awkward for all of us. Im pretty observant and noticed that the owner walked and talked to every single table, except for ours. He even skipped over us to get to another table… I don’t wanna make an assumption but thought it was rude. I wished he had asked us our thoughts :( We hope this was just an off experience, as it’s highly rated and quite...
