Point Lume Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience today prompted me to speak up. I visited this location and ordered a chai tea latte. The server who took my order was friendly and helpful, but the person who made my drink was extremely rude.

Not only did she serve my hot chai tea latte cold, but when I politely pointed it out, she rolled her eyes and remade the drink with a terrible attitude. When she finished, she simply placed it on the counter without saying a word—no acknowledgment, no confirmation that it was mine. The lack of basic customer service was shocking.

I didn’t catch her name, but she appeared biracial with curly hair. Unfortunately, her attitude left such a negative impression that I will never return to...

I've been other iterations of coffee shops in this space and none have impressed me as much as Point Lume. First of all, the addition of all the plants has turned it from an average space to a lovely one--a nice place to meet a friend for coffee or even to sit and work. And the espresso is very good! I had a decaf, almond milk latte and really enjoyed it. Also nice--you can chose your size of beverage. It's not just a little 10 or 12oz cup. I went for the medium, which was 16oz. Their coffee is pretty good, but their matcha (if you can even call this matcha) is the worst matcha I’ve had in my life. It is a pale, sickly green color and tastes foul. The oat milk was the strongest flavor and it was off. The lavender was practically nonexistent and I’m thinking it was the ingredient that caused the ever so slight hint of Lysol.

EDIT: the issue with the matcha is probably not the barista, but rather the quality of the matcha powder itself. It didn’t impart much matcha flavor and it was the wrong color. A higher quality matcha powder could do you...
