3rd EDIT: I called again and the owner answered. They remade my order and the food was really good. I've updated my rating.
2nd EDIT: I've tried calling them twice today to redeem the owner's offer below. The first time the number didn't even ring. I just tried again and it rang, then sent me to a full voicemail so I couldn't leave a message either. Seems that they're still ignoring the phone and making false promises.
EDIT: The owner below stated that I placed my order after the kitchen had already closed, but my order was placed within their operating hours listed on UberEats. If they closed right at that moment, they should've contacted me. But they didn't. We didn't find out my order was canceled until after 2am when my delivery driver was outside their door. There is no excuse for that.
Restaurant canceled my order, even though it was placed before their cutoff. Then they didn't bother to notify me as I waited for my food to arrive. My UberEats driver went all the way to the restaurant for nothing then notified me once he finally got there.
They ignored their phones when both UberEats and I tried to call. My driver witnessed them ignoring their machines as they were ringing.
This was my first time trying to order with them and it's really clear that they don't care about...
Read moreMy wife and I have been eating Thai food since childhood growing up in Southeast Asia. From Bangkok to Singapore to NYC to SoCal, this Thai place of Chef Lee is #1 for us because it is more than just Thai food. It is the taste of Thai-Malaysia-Southern China, particularly because of Chef skills in making unique sauces on each dishes.
We cannot find such unique tastes from her sauce elsewhere in SoCal. Asked the Chef, she confirmed her hand-made no-artificial flavor sauces took half of her time in the kitchen.
I won't comment on other aspects of her food such as freshness, texture, presentation because Chef always ACED them all. No question. The uniqueness that she brings to LA Thai food scene is her dedication with those specialty sauces
When we taste her food our mind get to travel to the actual regions where such taste came from. It's a great, warm reminder of our Southeast Asian root in the middle of the convenience of American lifestyle...
Read moreMy family found this new Thai place on Pico and we were immediately blown away. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the meal to come.
We have had our fair share of Thai food, and Sanook Soi was truly exceptional. The fried rice was a standout—light, fresh, and perfectly balanced in flavor. It wasn’t greasy or heavy, like most can be. The pad see ew and sticky rice were other highlights. What truly stood out was the attention to freshness. Everything was made to order, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the fresh ingredients and flavors without overpowering them.
Lee and the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a great experience.
My family is very excited to have Sanook Soi 38 in our neighborhood, we’re looking forward to the next visit so we can explore more...
