I'm giving Seafood City a solid four stars. Let me start by saying—the moment you walk in, you're hit with a strong seafood smell. It's not the most pleasant at first, almost like something's gone bad, but after a few minutes, you realize it's just that raw, natural seafood scent you’d expect from a place selling live crab and fresh catch daily. The store itself is extremely well stocked, especially if you're looking for Asian groceries or specialty items you won’t find at your regular supermarket. The seafood section is impressive—they offer a wide variety of fresh options, including live crab and shellfish. However, the meat section didn’t look too great. The quality seemed a little off, but to be fair, I wasn’t expecting premium cuts here. What knocks it down to four stars for me is the customer service—or lack of it. Employees barely acknowledge you, and when they do speak, it’s so fast and mumbled that it’s hard to understand what they’re saying. It feels very rushed and impersonal. If you're coming strictly for the selection, this place delivers. But don’t expect warm greetings or help from the staff. Still, worth stopping by if you're looking to cook up something fresh and flavorful at home

Inexpensive, fresh selection of fish. There was something of a language barrier with the fishmongers - not a terribly big deal. Despite more than a few of the customers being rude to others in line by obviously cutting to order fish, the fishmongers attended to them at the expense of the patiently waiting customers, seemingly because those particular customers spoke the same language as the fishmongers. It was enough to almost make me want to drop everything and walk out of the store, but I didn't. Anyhow, I walked out with a bag of fresh fish at a great price. But, the service was lousy and I don't think I'll go back.

Fresh seafood is all around. Along with all the other meats you can choose for your meal plans. I feel the quality of this market is fresh when it comes to their fish. While I was waiting to choose my fish and have it scaled and cut for me plenty of other orders that were ahead of me as well as behind me were being cycled through. They can also deep fry your fish for you before leaving. While I only came there for the seafood itself, the rest of the store felt decently in stock.

Great variety of meats and fish galore!! Good produce too!!

UPDATED REVIEW 4/22/2019 (Vermont near 1st St. location only) ** I'm sadly changing my review today 😔 My first review was about a month ago and I had no problem with price or people and meat/ fish section is HUGE but today I am highly disappointed and grossed out!!đŸ˜ČđŸ˜źđŸ˜”đŸ˜ŹđŸ˜ŸđŸ˜± So, as I was getting some steak from the packaged meat area a HUGE RAT crossed my way!!!! Two ladies ordering at the carniceria department were shocked and yelped and brought it to the butcher's attention.. They explained it to the younger butcher who told the older butcher who then just shrugged his shoulders 😐 just then the same or another big ol' rat peeped out and ran under the area where the meat is.. We all looked in awe and the ladies walked away and so did I but I noticed that these workers were laughing about what just happened.. I circled the corner and was disappointed that they did not tell any supervisor of what just happened.. They were standing in their department like nothing happened.. Like they were used to it and it was nothing new to them.. WOW!! 😕 I hate to imagine all that meat and oil these rats get into at night!? All the fruit left out that's crawled or...

I went to Seafood City on on Wednesday May 14th 2025 I wanted to purchase one catfish, which I wanted them to cut into four pieces and cleaned, after waiting there for half an hour I asked the lady behind the counter, how long is this going to take? all I wanted was my fish cut in four pieces, I don't need it cooked or anything like that, her English was very poor so I asked another worker, I showed him my number and said how much longer before you call this number. Can you show me how many numbers were in front of me and when he said there was still about six orders in front of my number, plus everybody was standing around just chatting and there was one elderly man doing all the work, I said I'm leaving, cancel the order, I don't know what kind of fish market takes, or would have taken an hour or more to cut a fish into four pieces. I will never come back here again, next time I will go, and recommend all my friends to go to San Pedro Fish Market instead of...
