I generally don't leave reviews, but this place was a breath of fresh air and worth taking the time to review. They employees were incredibly courteous, and they have great, affordable Mexican cuisine. We were staying at a hotel about a block away and made the mistake of ordering an insanely overpriced breakfast room service. The next morning we walked down the street and found this place, and sincerely enjoyed our breakfast that was half the price of the hotel breakfast, but more than twice as delicious! I especially loved the salsa bar to spice up my eggs. We enjoyed it so much, we came back for dinner after a fun-filled but exhausting trip to Universal Studios, and my steak tacos were fantastic! My husband ordered the nachos, which included probably over a pound of chips and toppings! Wowzers. My daughter got salmon with her meal although it was slightly on the fishy side, so I wouldn't recommend the salmon. All other menu items we tried were spot on. Some of the employees even recognized us and asked us how our trip to Universal was, which was unexpected because a lot of patrons pass through their doors, but appreciated. It was a nice, relaxing, clean, fun atmosphere, and the food was quick yet delicious and very fresh. I'd say it's similar food to a Chipotle or Qdoba, but with more personality, in my opinion. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely...
Read moreI miss the old Twain's that used to reside here for so many years...so many breakfasts at all hours. But somehow this chain has done a great job with the place!
I went in with low expectations (chain, trend-chasing whole food Mexican fare, fast casual Chipotle-killer)... But, it was actually great.
I had the steak Santa Fe burrito and I tried several different salsas. None were actually "hot" even though they were marked "hot" ... But that's typical for any chain. That was my only let down. They had Lagunitas IPA on tap, food was at my table faster than I could load up salsa's at the self-serve salsa bar which also had fresh cut limes, lemon, cilantro/onion mix, jalapenos, and pickled carrots.
Staff: affably friendly and attentive. They seemed happy to be there which is a rare treat at any establishment these days.
Overall, I'll take it. I'm glad it isn't a Chipotle or...
Read moreI always forget how good this place is because I don’t have any Sharky’s near my house. Luckily I drove by one today as I was hungry and trying to decide what to grab on my way from an appointment to an event. It’s basically like Chipotle for grownups who want good restaurant quality food in a hurry and a nice place to eat it. The guacamole tastes real and not watery, the portions are substantial, and the prices are still decent despite all the food price inflation lately. $13 for a massive burrito with the sour cream and guac included instead of tricking you with up charges. It’s is also more authentic: my Mexican friend who who was born and raised there was pleasantly surprised when I picked up Sharkey’s for a working lunch and it tasted like healthy real Mexican food instead of greasy fake...
