Just visited for the first time (for pickup during COVID), and I couldn't have been happier. We ordered their meal deal, and everything was ready right on time, and the person at the counter was friendly and attentive, helped me hold the platters correctly, and advised me to separate the salad once I got it to the car to keep the heat from ruining it. Very thoughtful.
We got it home, and the effort to include everything was wonderful. Besides the expected beef koobideh and chicken kabobs, vegetables, a massive amount of rice with tahdig left on top, bag of pita bread, and standard salad, there was a container with fresh-cut onion, plenty of butter, lime wedges, and quite a few packets of sumac (we have plenty left over).
And then we dug in. My wife and I typically bypass chicken in these scenarios, but it was part of the meal, so we went for it, and we were both very impressed by how juicy and flavorful it was. And then we tried the beef koobideh and it was the juiciest, most flavorful I've ever experienced, like if beef and butter had a child. Utterly spectacular, and instantly took this place to the top of my list.
We bought the meal for two, leaving us with plenty of leftovers, and making it a really good value for a treat meal (it was my birthday), and pretty reasonable any other time too. We'll definitely...
Read moreDelicious food, but…(and this may be because I’m from Texas where everything is bigger) … but the size of a single skewer of Koobideh for around $20 was questionable at best. Granted, it’s LA and things are just more expensive these days, but Shrinkflation Kabab isn’t quite in line with the Iranian culture of true hospitality IMO. Make the skewers thicker and charge more if you have to! The flavor is great! It’s juicy! Give us more! We will pay more for it!
That said, a single skewer of top quality Koobideh meal in Houston is around $16 and it would run circles around any kabab in California. That does make me biased because Houston has the best Persian food in the western hemisphere, but that doesn’t mean any Koobideh should be that small. 4 hours later and it feels like we didn’t have lunch despite spending $50 on two skewers of Koobideh.
Good service, good atmosphere, but the food quality needs to be stepped up to be competitive and worthy of high commendation, especially for someone visiting from Houston.

Read moreAbsolutely delicious and authentic Persian food! I’ve tried many kabob places around Los Angeles, but Shekarchi Kabob is on another level. The meat is perfectly grilled — juicy, flavorful, and tender — and the rice is always fluffy with just the right amount of saffron. Their Soltani Combo is my go-to; it’s generous and perfectly seasoned.
The restaurant is spotless, the staff are polite and attentive, and the service is fast even during busy hours. You can tell they take pride in both the food and the hospitality. The prices are fair for the quality and portions, and parking is easy on Westwood Blvd.
If you’re craving real Persian kabob and a warm, welcoming vibe, this place is a must-try....
