If you’re on the hunt for a dining spot that combines healthy eating with exceptional service, all kidding aside, California Chicken Café is the SPOT! Especially the Westwood location. This place will quickly become your go-to for satisfying and nourishing meals.

The menu is a delightful celebration of freshness. Their salads are nothing short of masterpieces—vibrant, crisp, and loaded with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor. I particularly recommend the Chinese chicken salad; it always hit the spot, to the point that I have had this for lunch and dinner the same day several occasions.

Now, let’s talk about the rotisserie chicken. It’s perfectly seasoned, incredibly tender, and cooked to perfection. Each bite is juicy and flavorful, making it a fantastic option for a hearty yet healthy meal. Pair it with a side of their roasted potatoes, chicken pasta or delish rice for a well-rounded dish.

I’ve always loved California Chicken Café and eat there pretty often with my kids — just usually at other locations. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular one today was disappointing enough that I won’t be returning.

I came in to place a to-go order and asked about a few items my children enjoy, including the rotisserie chicken wings. The employee helping me asked another staff member, a gentleman named Luis, how long it would be until more wings were available. Without even looking up from his papers, Luis responded in a very dismissive way, saying, “We don’t have any.”

It wasn’t the fact that the wings weren’t available — I completely understand that happens. It was his tone and attitude that made the situation unpleasant. When I tried to ask how long it might be until more were ready, his response and demeanor made it clear he wasn’t interested in helping or communicating respectfully.

Because of that, I decided to cancel my entire order before even placing it. Customer service like that doesn’t reflect the kind of hospitality I’ve always experienced at other California Chicken Café locations. I really hope management takes this as an opportunity to provide Luis with some retraining and education on customer care, because this kind of behavior isn’t becoming...

Great food. Great value. Great service. This place is just plain GREAT!

Chicken meals with sides. Tasty wraps. Amazing salads. OH MY! And fresh, healthy food to boot.

MENU HIGHLIGHTS -- Two piece chicken meal (breast and leg) with two sides (pasta salad and broccoli) -- Chicken Caesar Wrap -- Chinese Chicken Salad (best in town -- even better than Feast From the East a few doors down) -- Chicken Caesar Salad (not the best rendition ever, but certainly above average and very tasty)

GREAT FOOD + GREAT VALUE The portions are HUGE! You'll never go hungry. And the prices are totally reasonable.

-- Good ordering tip: Always ask for the "lunch size" salads, even for dinner. They're $3-$4 dollars less and still a TON of food!

BEAT THE LUNCH CROWD + DINNER TIME TAKEOUT Awesome lunch spot (though watch out for the big crowds between 12-1PM). But despite the heavy lunch crowd, their efficient staff moves you though line very quickly and serves up meals in short order. The problem is seating, which fills up around the noon hour with a bunch of yentas. They who camp out and gab forever... but don't forget the back patio!

Also good for a take-out dinner you can grab and go on the way home.
