Simply Salad — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I come in here about once a week, sometimes every two weeks, for the past 5 years or so. First couple years the employees were consistently good and I knew them All by name. Recently there’s been a lot of changes the past 2 years and there is always something wrong with my order. Today I asked for the salad I most commonly get and asked the short tattooed Latina woman not to add kidney beans to my EL PASO (as I always do). But I got home and I start seeing that not only where they not excluded they were added as they normally would. It wouldn’t be a big problem if I didn’t have allergies to certain legumes, kidney beans being at the top of the list. I called the store to complain and the same woman that took my order hung up on me when she realized I was complaining. Admin the store manager, however, was kind enough to bring me a new salad just as I had ordered it. This sucks because i am not a fan of salads but I fell in love with Simply Salad.

I have upgraded from 2 starts to 4 because of the same manager. He truly works hard to make sure every customer is satisfied.

Update: The owner advised the store manager, Armen, to give me a complimentary salad on my next visit (which was today!) totally unexpected but very welcomed. Leadership, from the top trickling on down is something...

Hugely disappointed with this place. We both got food poisoning. The food I received was not what was pictured on the menu. I received a salad with lettuce and toppings that were chopped fine and all mixed together. That means I was unable to inspect the amount or quality of each ingredient in my salad and the lettuce wilted quickly so absolutely no chance of left overs. I immediately regretted eating here because within 30 mins my stomach started hurting and the discomfort lasted all day. My husband made several violent trips to the bathroom and I had to retire to bed in the mid afternoon. It could have been a couple reasons, non-organic vegetables that were not washed or cilantro/lettuce that went bad. The dressings I ordered were tasty but the online menu did not specify that the tahini would be spicy because if I had known, I would not have ordered the sweet chili dressing as well. I had to search really hard for black beans in my salad which was the only protein source I ordered for my meal. There was also barely any avocado in my salad even though I paid a whole 1.50 more for it. I will...

Horrible experience today at this location. I would not recommend it to anyone. As food safety could be one of their MAJOR issues. Long waiting lines. With customers complaining about their orders being placed and not ready. One specific employees doing everything (who seems to be the manager because she was the only one wearing all black and different uniform, aside from the rest) kept taking orders and cashing out money, handling orders out and at points even getting in the prepping area to make salads herself (without washing her hands with the same dirty glove she had been handling cash money with? To start prepping orders? Wow, I was in disbelief of how can someone run a store like this. No sense of urgency on customer service nor food safety procedures being followed. I really hope they didn't get anyone sick today. Someone should really go and check up on this location before it...
