Spice Season (Studio City) — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We decided to check out a new place for lunch and this one caught my eye while we were driving down Ventura Blvd!

I really like the decor. It's cute, clean and modern. There were about 8-10 tables. The waitress was really nice and sweet. We also redeemed our Yelp check-in for either a free Thai Iced Tea or Fried Dumplings! Score! :)

FOOD: *Fusion Crostino - Wonderful! I loved the seasoned pieces of chicken they had on top of the crunchy baguette. The avocado paste and mint leaves added a nice flavor.

*Gold Rush - Yummy! This dish was just fried chicken dumplings (like gyoza) but were cooked perfectly. They had a nice crunch to them.

*Blazing Basil - My boyfriend got this dish and I was told that it was really good! They were nice enough to substitute the beef with chicken and it had a nice spice and flavor.

*Spice Season Steak - Great! The steak was cooked really well (medium) and had a delicious flavor. The meat wasn't chewy and was definitely better than expected. Just make sure to ask for a knife so you can cut your meat.

*Sri-Racha Style Noodles - I always get pad see ew when I go to a Thai place. And the waitress recommended that I get this noodle dish instead (since I also love Sri-Racha!). It's the spicier, Sri-Racha flavored version of pad see ew and I loved it! The noodles were perfect. Not too thick and very smooth. Not too greasy. The flavors were great.

*Turmeric Curry - My friend who ordered this said it was very good!

The thai iced tea was really good! Not too sweet and I think it was a perfect balance between the tea and cream.

PARKING: Free parking in the plaza

Here is my very honest review, no hard feeling I will explain why this place deserves one star.

Today 25/12/2020, I came to this place to do pickup order for doordash and it was very very packed and busy which is understandable. I talked to one of the people who were in charge in that place and told who I am picking up for. They checked their system and told me it will take 1.5 hours and I said okay I will wait.

I respected their jobs and I did not bother them I waited and waited after 1 hour and 30 minutes I asked how the order is doing and they told me they cancelled all doordash orders and did not say anything.

At first they did not even apologize and even try to solve the issue.

As a result, I do not have any idea about their foods however their behavior was very very bad. I was representing my customer over there. Therefore he got angry and REPORTED me because I told them it will take 1.5 hours for their orders to be ready.

As a result, I lost 1.5 hours, did not make any money and was reported by the customer.

I really like this place. In fact I eat here about once a week because I work on the same block. But I just stood inside, unacknowledged for 3 minutes (this place is so small it's impossible to not see me), but I waited patiently because it seemed they were filling a big take out order. So even though the woman and I had made eye contact, I understood that she might be too busy to seat me right away. But then two girls opened the door and the woman seated them immediately and looked right past me. I'm not sure why she thought I had been standing there. If it wasn't obvious that I wanted to be seated she should have asked. So I left. Very disappointed and wondering if I'll be back. It was honestly so rude.
