This review is not for the food, but for the extremely poor, rude and disrespectful service I received from one of your staff. I placed an order online a few days ago for pick-up. When we got home, 2 items were missing. I called the restaurant and spoke to Taylor. She had told me that there was new staff and that they forgot to put my items in the bag. I didn't want to come back to get the missing items, instead I asked for a refund. She was a bit abrupt on the phone. She said she would try to bring it up and refund the card and if not the manager Nicole would call me in the morning. I asked for a call back regardless - no one called.

Today, a few days later I still had not received a call nor a refund so I decided to go in to get the refund. When I went in I explained what had happened and the woman I spoke to directed me to Taylor who happened to be working. I was cordial, not angry at the time, I just merely wanted a refund. What made me become angry is how Taylor spoke to me.

She was not very empathetic towards the situation when I said no one still has contacted me, nor did I get a refund, she said, "well my manager was supposed to call you, I'm guessing that didn't happen. I was clear to you on the phone how our IT dept. works on refunds."

Why blame everyone else? How can I be standing in your facility and you cannot issue me a refund on the spot? How can you not help me?

She made me feel as if it was my fault I had missing items or didn't get a refund instead of helping me. She never once apologized. She made a call to her manager on the phone and said that in 10 min she would be in and refund me and call me. She asked if I wanted to wait 10 min for her manager to arrive, I said no, as I didn't have the time. (As I sit here and write this its now been over 2 hours since I left.)

Even when she told me this she rudely looked at me and just walked away - my entire communication with Taylor was uncalled for and as a LONG TIME customer of this location, I have NEVER EVER experienced this type of service and I have never felt so disrespected. The food at Jinya has always been great and every other person I've experienced here has been too, it's instances like this where I will weigh customer experience over anything.

This is an Asian restaurant, in Asian culture, respect is everything. Jinya, I am disappointed that this has happened. I hope no one ever experiences what I did. And also FYI I still have not received my money back for something I paid for that I never received and sure my refund is only like $6, but that is not the point of me writing this review. In fact, I don't even want my money back - what I would like is an apology of how I was treated. I wish this never happened, because now I can never come back over something that should have never happened in the first place. I get things happen when things get busy in a restaurant, but I am customer and I do deserve good customer service just as much...

Just because the food is good does not give the staff the right to be rude and indifferent to their customers. My wife placed an online order for pick up at 5:50pm this past Thursday (11/10) I arrive at that time and was curtly informed by the host (didn’t get his name but he was a Hispanic gentleman with a beard) wasn’t ready yet. No big deal. Ten minutes past, 20 mins past, a half hour. Every time I try to get the hosts attention he ignores me and at one point finds my order receipt and tells me my order was for 5:50 pickup. I’m not sure what point he was trying to prove? It was already 6:15 at that point. Finally a woman who was having a similar issue asked for the manager to come out. The manager (tall African American female believe her name was Denise) comes out and listens to this fellow customer’s issue and when I try to tell the manager I’m having the same issue she actually puts her finger up and scolds me like a child that she will get to my problem in a minute. At this point I’ve had enough and inform the manager she is being condescending to a customer who has at this point been waiting almost an hour for his food. She must have been overwhelmed and at her breaking point because she begins to raise her voice and tell me I’m the one being condescending. This situation is getting absurd at this point so I just let her yell. She storms back inside and finally after an hour I get my order. No apology she just says “I understand how people get when they are hangry (hungry + angry)” I’m not “hangry”. I’m annoyed at your rude staff and poor customer service. I get home and our order is wrong.

I’m not sure how much these reviews will evoke any change {to the owner are you reading any of these comments because they seem to be increasing in numbers} but I would suggest you consider other establishments before Jinya Studio City. It’s not worth being treated so poorly for a...

Each year I ride the AIDS Lifecycle Bike Ride from SF to LA. Right after the ride, I travelled to Vietnam and then Europe, so I haven’t had the time to post this yet. After we arrive, we always have a dinner at a local restaurant. We were staying with a friend in the Valley this time, and he took us to one of his favorite places.

Even though this is a chain now, this being their first location, it’s in a strip mall as a hole-in-the wall restaurant. I liked that aspect. Now, I love my ramen. SF has quite a few great ramen places, so I was quite pleased to find a great ramen place in LA. (Some of the Little Tokyo ones are just so-so. 😊) Let me tell you, they do something to their broth that just makes it outstanding. We had a couple appetizers (they call them Small Plates); they were quite decent, but came out a bit late, just shortly before the ramens. Not a biggie, but we were hungry and could have spent more time enjoying them. We had the Tonkatsu Red ramen at Level 6 and the Creamy Spicy Vegan ramen. They were f…ing amazing! Excellent flavors, great ingredients, but it’s really the thick, creamy broths that we enjoyed the most. They put a bit too much noodle in the ramens, so we left some there, but slurped all the soup. 😊

My friend said it seemed they had some new faces he hadn’t seen. A manager looking gentleman was making sure all tables were happy. He did apologize for the delay in the appetizers, so we were not upset. Overall, excellent experience. Wish they...

Decided at the last minute to have noodles for lunch. Googled search and JINYA was the closest to us… Arrived when they opened, which was 11am on a Wednesday morning. No crowds at all. Only one couple seated outside and they were waiting on their food. Took a few minutes to decide what to eat, since I’ve never been to this particular ramen spot. Their menu is completely different online than the menu you scan at the entrance. What I originally decided on was no longer on their menu.. Waitress helped me decide on a vegan option. She was very nice and patient with me. However; I am rating 1 stars because we waited almost a whole hour for one order. Don’t forget; I mentioned we got there when they opened so no crowd at all Several people arrived after me and were seated and their food was served in a timely manner… Very disappointed in the long wait… I thought they had to go out in the backyard and cut the cabbage down or something. The way they took so long for one freaking veggie order… There are other noodle spots around LA I will go to. Don’t think I’ll be back there. The food was JUST OKAY! Nothing special about it, at all. I was really hoping to get that ‘MMM’ taste but it just wasn’t there. $19 for small ramen noodles with a small side of white rice & a hand full of cabbage - not sure if that’s normal. Not sure if the small portion was do to having a to-go order…But, yeah.

Located in a strip mall center near Marshalls and Michaels they excellent parking which is a luxury for this area. Has a very cozy indoor and a pretty good size outside patio area. First time here I ordered the spicy chicken ramen, Salmon tacos, spicy tuna cones. The cone and tacos arrived pretty quick and despite the novelty upon tasting them I could take or leave next visit. They didn't taste bad but they didn't blow my mind either. The presentation was nice but again it didn't have a memorable taste profile, kinda bland. The ramen followed, and it was tasty for sure with a nice presentation. Now I did order the spicy... It has nice flavor but not quite any kick or bite. I would say if you wanted that go ahead and order the hot level as they give you a choice of mild, spicy and hot. Kick in for the seasoned egg. It was perfect, the yolk was not overcooked. It was nice and runny. Service was great. Side note the soy sauce was not on table, you'll have to request it. There are condiments on table but no soy sauce. I'll come back and order the a hot level ramen and see how I fare with it.

Okay I’ll start by saying why I’m rating 2 stars. Simply put, we were forgotten about. Our server never came back to ask us what ramen we wanted to order. We had ordered a drink & appetizer and then she just never came back. Nobody came to check on us. We waited almost half an hour at our table before waving down another server and told her we never got to place our ramen order. That server took our ramen order right away and eventually our original server came back to apologize but then we never saw her again. We eventually got our ramen and our full check and that was that. No other apology, no offering of any kind, as if nothing went wrong. I have a lot of patience, but I can guarantee few people would be willing to wait at their table for almost half an hour being ignored/forgotten…mistakes happen and we are human, but the least we could’ve gotten was a drink refill….& the positive would be that the Brussel sprouts were great and my spicy ramen bowl was flavorful. Highly doubtful we will come back due to lack of service/responsibility when a big mistake like that happened.
