Oh come on, this place is 5 stars on all levels! Finally! There's a place on Ventura Boulevard with affordable prices, and good quality Chinese food. Service is exceptional. The food is great, but our server Joseph stole the show. He's very humble, attentive and as classy as a server can be. The care and attention to detail he took preparing the Mu Shu showed. I Highly recommend the Thai Iced Tea. Food: In general, the portions are HUGE. Definitely 30% more quantity than other places, AND still at a reasonable price. Fried Rice is divine. Lots of protein, and the rice has a nice chew and mouth feel. Mu Shu: not salty at all, even the plum sauce was a perfect blend of umami and flavor, with just a hint of sweet. Sesame Chicken: my favorite. Not too breaded, not too sweet. I think it's the perfect blend of crunchy and crispy. Mongolian Beef: another favorite of mine. Tender cuts of beef, tossed with green onion in a brown sauce. Very savory. Shrimp with mushrooms: very tasty, and tender shrimp. Not overcooked at all. It's got a nice chew to it, and the mushrooms are very tender and flavorful. Fried Fish: crispy! You can opt for the jalapeno on top, or leave it plain. Egg rolls: 4 in an order. Very crispy, a golden brown color. The inside is steaming hot with a mix of cabbage and vegetable. Parking: it's part of a small strip mall with other restaurants. If you come during the week for dinner, there should be plenty of spaces, and a couple of handicap spots available. Decor: I would call it modern classy. Some LED light accents adorn paintings on the wall, very clean and pristine. They are really good about keeping the place spotless. Overall, I am quite pleased with this place. First time visiting, and I will definitely be back! For the value you're getting, the price you pay and the quantity of food you receive, also the taste and quality of that food, I would say this place is a winner!

I really struggled with whether or not to give this restaurant a five or four star. I think a 4 and a half would be perfect and I'll explain why. The atmosphere and decor was very nice. I really liked the lighting overall and the bamboo area. The food is very good and they give the biggest portions I've ever seen at an Asian restaurant with reasonable prices. Another added feature is that they serve Chinese and Japanese food so it was nice to be able to order sushi with our meals. When ordering a dinner meal they give you a big bowl of soup, not a cup like you usually get with most dinner combos at other restaurants of this type. The cream cheese crab rangoon was at least 3 times the size as any I've ever seen. The actual portions of the main course were huge, as well. We were there for 2 of our birthdays and they were nice enough to bring out 2 ice creams with candles and sing happy birthday. Another thing, the ice tea was especially good! Here is the problem. The waiter we had seem to get frustrated with us, when trying to take our order. I think because he didn't understand (possible language barrier) and he would just walk away, without warning, and start waiting on other tables and do other things. He even seemed a little mad even when we were talking to him so nicely. He did this a couple times so it took a very long time to get our main order taken. We had previously ordered some appetizers and drinks and did receive those with some confusion. We finally flagged down another lady that worked there to help us and she brought another waiter and they served us well. But the first waiter also messed up our tickets so much that they had a hard time figuring it out and never got it right, so we just had to figure it out ourselves. With all this, there was plenty of positive that we would still be back.

I moved out to Los Angeles from New York over a year ago and since then I have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant that compares to the ones I love in New York and finally I have, Szechuwan Garden. I had a wonderful experience here and I already can't wait to go back. The restaurant is very nice inside, I adored the peaceful vibes and gorgeous decor. The service was very good and the food was absolutely delicious. My party and I all ordered the lunch special (choice of soup or salad, an egg roll, choice of rice, and an entrée) and every one of us was extremely happy with our food. The crispy noodles that we were served when we sat down were so good that we asked for more. The egg flower soup I had was outstanding and I am sad that I am not eating it right now. The chicken with soft noodles was so plentiful and tasty that I took it home and ate the rest for dinner. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Honest review, completely objective. Ordered via online for delivery. The food came about an hour and a half later, I had to call the restaurant just to confirm if they received my order because I wasn't able to pay online, I had to pay the driver when he arrived. They assured me the order was on the way and sure enought the driver showed up about 5 min afterwards. The driver didn't know how to work the cc terminal and after asking me for help the machine needed to be docked in the base to transmit the transaction. No big deal I had cash and paid for the food. At this point I'm rating a 4 star still hoping the food would make up for it. The food was surprisingly warm, as I thought it was going to be cold due to the delivery time. But this is where my rating is mostly based on. The food honestly tasted like a TV dinner. The chicken was very rubbery and very bland. It had almost no flavor. I ordered the tangerine chicken with spice and it was not even spicy. I thought it was maybe just one piece but as I kept trying other pieces I found it all to be extremely rubbery. I seriously thought I was eating a TV dinner. I tried my wife's noodles and they too were very bland and tasted like they were just pulled out of the microwave. The egg rollles were also soggy and not crunchy at all. I wanted to give this place a chance but I probably won't order again due to...
