Tlaco Tacos — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Tlaco Tocos should rebrand as Tlaco Pupusas. It’s less catchy, but that’s what they are good at. I don’t think they sell tlacoyo’s here either so maybe they should change the name Tlaco too.

The chicken and pork pupusas were solid. You can see them hand make it over the counter, and they came out quite tasty. I’d recommend these if you go here.

The tacos on the other hand were simply not good. They over pile the meat, which is usually a good thing, but the meat was quite bland. Especially the chicken. I would avoid them altogether.

Best in class for West LA. Strongly recommend Tacos al Vapor, which are insanely good--fluffy steamed tortilla and delicious black bean spread. Terrific pollo burrito w the best-flavored chicken in a burrito/taco I've had--chicken is notable: moist, cubed, and well-seasoned. Both come w tortilla chips. Salsas rojo and verde are salty.

My go-to for West LA at $10-20 price point (beats Tacos Por Favor, Nina's, Poquito Más, Taco Plus. El Super Taco, Tacos Tu Madre). Pollo great; cabeza good; carne asada a little tough and off-seasoned. Tortas ok, nothing wrong. Pupusas a little sad/droopy and stingy...

It is always the "smaller, mom & pop style" restaurant that for the most part give you some of your Best food memories! Unless your willing to shell-out Big Bucks for a Special Order Tasting Menu! (Special Occasions....OK!). That being said, I really enjoyed the Food, Value & Service you receive at Tlaco Tacos! Some items are very simple, but others are a Home Run!!! The Soup, Yes!!! Beef Soup... Outrageous! The Pupusas is Awesome! And the Super Burritos....Well, way more Meat & Taste than the 3 Taco on Santa Monica...
