I have no idea why some of the best and most affordable restaurants in LA are now gone and some of the worst ones are still standing? Did the pandemic literally kill people’s tastes??? What the heck is going on??? Santa Monica just recently lost a great and long-standing iconic Thai food restaurant called Thai Dishes, so the next tiers down are like a huge rift. I thought I would just now try Greenview Thai because it’s one of the only ones remaining on the westside. Their service was really great but unfortunately that’s worthless, considering that their food is so inferior to Thai Dishes that it’s actually bad. If you’ve been to Thailand then you know how good that type of food can be, but it’s still been many many years since I was there so my standards have significantly lowered since then and yet I’m STILL being forced to deal with lower and lower standards because of my environment. I just don’t get ir, and I’m really disappointed by this whole development. I don’t know what’s wrong with people that they can support one and not the other. Maybe it’s a younger and more clueless generation, I don’t know, but I still think it’s a matter of good old fashioned poor taste whether or not cluelessness is a factor. Very sad. It’s as though the movie “Idiocracy” is slowly...
Read moreI either stop here to eat or order from here about once a week, so I figured it was time to write about why I like it here so much! This spot is located by a very walkable neighborhood, tucked away from the busier restaurant area a few blocks down. I love eating in house because since their renovation it's a great, clean, comfortable ambiance that's not ever too loud or busy.
Food is ready quickly and tastes great. Some favorite noodle dishes are Pad Thai, of course, and also the Pad See Ew and Drunken Noodles. I love the panaang and red curries, especially as they now serve purple rice which I think adds wonderful flavor and texture when eaten with the dish! I would say if you're getting a noodle dish, skip the lunch special--most things are about the same price as the regular dish, but come in a much bigger portion, but if you want one of the stir fried dishes or curries the lunch special is a great deal, and comes with an egg roll and salad. I also love that they have curry noodle soup! That dish is a bit harder to find at most Thai restaurants, so the fact that they have it and it's delicious is...
Read moreThe parking situation is very irritating but it is not their fault. Just a fair warning. Honest review. Chicken parb was freshly made . the Roma lettuce was crispy and the chicken had a slight minty and flavourful taste with a nice spice kick. Enough to feel it but not too spicy for my kids . Garden salad. Again Roma lettuce crunchy and fresh cucumbers where frozen at edges and not fresh as also the eggs. Overall good food. 4 stars . But, yes there is a but, the hostess, wich I believe was not my waiter. She, did not meet theaccommodations of good customer service standards unfortunately. I had to ask her to get me a drink instead of offering. I did not get my change until I asked for it. Yes I know . And lastly I asked our dear friend the hostess to get my order here and this sweet guy who was probably the manager asked if we where eating here because me and my son's grabbed a seat in the corner because the hostess did not seat us. And brought me plates . He saved the whole experience. Thank you dear friend. Time of day...
