This place has the fest mexican food in all of LA! If you are hungry, make sure you try the Molcajete Grill Plater brought to you on an piping hot lava stone thingy. There are several you can choose from but my favorite is the regular one. Its enough for two or one really hungry person like myself. Or the Carnes Monte Alban which is two types of Oaxacan meats. Very delicious. If you feel like you're a little more adventurous, try the mole made from spices and chocolate or the Clayuda which is like a pizza but Oaxacan style. Also the pozole is really good and the tacos de barbacoa, which are goat tacos. And of course for dessert, try the best homemade flan or the cactus icecream. Mmmmmmmm, guarantees you'll leave happy. This is my favorite restaurant!

I went here for lunch with my girlfriend and I was completely satisfied with my experience. I ordered the Camarones a la Diabla and it was amazing. Fresh taste, perfect spices, and very fulfilling. The shrimp was cooked and sautéed to perfection. Made me want to over eat because it was so delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I will say, don’t expect fast service because their food is made to order. It took a little longer than expected but because of how great the taste was, it was definitely worth the wait. My only complaint is the freezing cold bathroom but that is no reason to give this place less than 5 stars.

Came here for the specialty: mole. Ordered the dark Oaxacan black mole and the red spicy mole. Enjoyed both. The black mole was a great blend of spices although the amount of chocolate made it a bit too sweet. The red spicy mole was very mild and excellent. When we mixed the two moles it mellowed out the sweetness of the black mole and gave it a little kick. They only serve it on chicken breast but I wish I had the option of requesting dark meat instead, especially since the chicken was a bit dry. Lots of mezcal drinks to choose from and they let me sub in tequila. The dessert was underwhelming so I would say go elsewhere for that.

Wow never in my life have I ever given a restaurant a ONE star. I want to start this review with our food took a whopping full hour to be given to our table. Normally this wouldn't be such an issue as I love good food and sometimes a long wait can mean good food! To me and my families suprise. All. Four. Plates. Were not hot. My families plates were warm at best and my plate was plain cold. When I asked our server if my dish is normally served cold, she claimed that the food is cooked hot but the CHEESE is what made it cold. In what world does cold cheese make a hot dish cold. In my world... cold cheese gets warm from a hot dish. Now this is not what made me review this place a one star. After receiving our bill, we were moderately okay with our experience, with a negative connotation BUT we then reviewed our bill to notice we found an extra plate we never asked for and a guacamole and chips, we never ordered or even knew existed at the restaurant when 9/10 the chips and guac and salsa is a free side dish to eat while reviewing the menu. an extra almost $40 we could have been scammed from if not reviewing the bill. When the waitress was suprised, I was almost caught off guard when she is the one who served our plates AND made the bill for us just a couple moments ago. I would like to end this review with... I know restaurants are hard to manage but, it should never be this difficult for your customers. Dissappointed with the $130 I spent. Quite honestly wish I ordered fast food and that says something...

We had such a beautiful meal here. My husband and I, son and 2 year old moved into the area not too long ago and decided to give this place a try after a few friends of ours recommended we go. We’ve been to quite a few noted Mexican restaurants within LA but this gem is such a great, modest, authentic little place. The staff there were so friendly. We were Served by the lovely and very attentive Gena, who presented us with a fantastic mixed starter plate which had (our fav) pork crackling… omg😛😍 and an array of very tasty delights. This was followed by three delicious main courses. The very tender chicken breast mole was to die for … that sauce is stunning !!! The Oaxacan pizza is on a large delicious thin crispy tortilla base and a great sharing main.We also halved the burrito a La Oaxaqueña bañado con mole which was delicious and very filling. Our little one had some chicken broth with chicken and rice which was a great little soup for her albeit she LOVED the home made jello which was more appealing 🤣 Everything was explained so well by Gena as we ordered and were given our food. We also ordered a couple of the margaritas…. Oh yes !!!! They were sooooooo good!!!! We ended the meal with some takeaway sticky Mexican treats that were also very tasty. Surprisingly, the sugar squash …. Note: very sweet so if u have sweet tooth or need a sugar hit , was a yummy and interesting choice. Thoroughly recommended and we will most definitely be back....

Notice: We have only been there twice.

The first time we went there service was excellent. Service was really good from top to bottom. We had a couple drinks, ate the vegan food suggested by the manager, and everything was excellent.

The second time, and this might be a fluke, the service was not good. We ordered two drinks and two waters. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, we never got the waters. We got our drinks at the same time and finished at the same time. One glass was full to the top with ice, the other not.

Our second trip there was not good. Slow service and inconsistent drinks. I really like this place because of our first visit, we'll give this place one more try.

Stuff happens, I don't know why we got such bad service the...
