I have always been to the Melrose Place location. I have been going to the farmers market here on a weekly basis for over 3 years. I used to order here more often, but my order would consistently take about 30 minutes. For a bagel. I finally stopped going because although it's good food and a convenient location, I don't have all day. It's a bagel food truck, it really shouldn't take that long. I don't know what the problem is. The last two times I went, I ordered online or checked that there was a very short line first. When I ordered online, I ordered a dozen bagels and some spreads. I gave them ample time to prepare the order because it always takes so long and I always see people with online orders waiting there for a long time. Well, I guess I waited too long this time, because when I got there, they had already given away my order to the wrong person (who now had the incorrect order) so I had to wait for them to repack the entire thing. It really defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. This last time I went, I saw a short line (one person) and ordered a plain bagel with a fried egg, cheddar cheese, and a hash brown. After I ordered, I waited outside the truck for a few minutes, left to get a coffee and came right back. I waited for another 5 minutes or so and once I had seen that everyone who was there before me had their orders called, I stood at the very front. The cashier saw me and said oh, "Zoe?" your receipt got cut off by the printer and I couldn't see what bagel you wanted so we didn't make your order. I told her my order again. She couldn't remember a plain bagel. She asked if I wanted any cream cheese on the bagel and I said no, just the cheddar cheese. By this point, it had already been 15 minutes, and I had been standing right there for about 10 of those when they could have asked me to clarify. I left to do my farmer's market shopping, and came back after another 15 minutes had passed. When I came back they had my order and gave it to me. When I got to my car I opened it up and it was a plain bagel with a fried egg, hashbrown, and jalapeño cheddar cream cheese. It had been over 30 minutes and I had already done every single other thing I needed to do, so I just left and scraped off the cream cheese at home. I don't have 45 minutes to possibly get the correct bagel order, and I don't know who does. This truck is absolutely ridiculous, and I don't understand how they stay in business with glacially slow and completely disorganized service. I so badly hope that the management can make some changes because I would love to...
Read moreFirst time in my life I’ve been scammed by a food truck. Let me share with you my experience!
I ordered a Reubenstein bagel, and paid for it ($15) and after i asked for the receipt I realized the girl in the truck overcharged me ($18) by adding (gluten free option) to the payment without my permission!
I told her to correct this and that i didnt ask for a non gluten option (neither did they ask me if i want gluten free bread)
and i asked for a correction. She said she has to charge me again and refund the first transaction. After she charged again i asked for a Refund receipt. And she said she did the refund and there is no need.
Now its been 5 days and i checked my credit card and i have two times charge for an average bagel! In addition to overcharging, she kept lying to my face and charged me two times!
I had to call American Express and dispute the transaction.
Dont ever buy anything from this filthy, disgusting establishment.
I added the receipts of both transactions they did as a proof and track record. The persons name on the receipt is...
Read moreBagel is not something ubiquitous in LA. It’s more like an East Coast (NYC) thang where every borough and neighborhood has a bagel store. Perhaps I’m bias being a NYorker living in sunny LA. Anyway, let’s start this bagel review. Yeastie Boys Bagels is a food truck that primarily offer bagel sandwiches. They have good bagel and cream cheese selection albeit limited. Moreover, they have add-ons that you’ll find satisfying. They’re primarily located in Silverlake neighborhood of LA. I ordered their Blueberry bagel with Strawberry cc ($5). And it taste good, almost as good as the ones from NYC. Their bagel was soft and warm. Similarly, their strawberry cc was good. Staff were amiable, professional and followed health protocol. Service was mildly fast. But that will depend on the day and time obviously. Prices were a lil bit above market value. Overall, I had a good order experience and bagel. Yeastie Boys Bagels make good bagel sandwiches. And I highly...
