As a local, Iāve had mixed feelings about the consistent gentrification of Silver Lake over the years. But I think one of the things that hurt the most was seeing a mural dedicated to local residents and scenes of Silver Lake painted over with something so incredibly corporate. I must admit, the buildingās mural is neat. But, itās a bit of a tragedy that it covers a mural that was so āSilver Lakeā (RIP, Bingo).
As for the business itself: I went in with a couple pair of high quality and rarely used shoes. Got them for a wedding, only wore them once. The cashier helping me was so gregarious and helpful until he heard what brand the shoes were. His energy completely dropped as he stiffly told me they donāt accept or sell those brands, and he promptly ignored me and started hailing over other customers whoād just entered. Like, my dude, what if I wanted to do some shopping after making the trek? What if I had other merchandise you were interested in? To do such a 180 and give a cold shoulder like just speaks volumes of the kind of store this is. Bougie. And if youāre not bougie, they donāt want your business. Like alright, to each their own. Just wish they at least left...

As someone who has previously been a buyer with Buffalo exchange, that was actually against store policy to not fold customers clothes when returning them. It felt rude and intentional and mostly, unprofessional and lazy. All the other buyers I've met here have been helpful and sweet. In my opinion, any of the other people working at this Wasteland would be a better...

Usually never shop at second-hand stores, but I also didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a last minute dress. The store is a little confusing, but the dresses are organized by type (vintage, festival, strapless, etc). I was a little confused because there were also racks of dresses in the back that could have fit into other racks. Anyhow, I ended up finding a cute Sezane shift dress in my size (XS/S)! The dress was in great condition and was $68! So glad I decided to stop...
