Andale Mexican Kitchen and Bar in downtown Los Gatos, is a long time family favorite.
Growing up in Los Gatos, Andale has been my go to for delicious food, drinks, and custom orders with full salsa bar and indoor seating as well as a charming backyard patio.
However after developing food allergies in 2009, I appreciated Andale even more. Their willingness and ability to make my orders free from tree nuts and dairy make a world of difference.
Their adaptability to evolve with the times and social trends (innovative Cali Mex brunch menu) while incorporating traditional and more classic dishes appeals to all ages and a wide range of tastes.
Enjoy tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, salads, and more. Can’t go wrong with their salsa and guacamole.
Brunch includes dishes like cactus scrambles, breakfast tacos, breakfast hash, and more.
Beverages include a full bar, various Agua Fresca (my favorite is watermelon), Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice and Mexican Coffee.
If you’re dining with food allergies make sure to notify your server as ingredients, suppliers, and preparation methods can change at any time.
Wait times can vary and weekends do tend to be busier (brunch and afternoons) especially. But usually they are really good about accommodating.
The longest I’ve had to wait is about 30 minutes or so. Casual and down to earth but you can dress up if you want to. Definitely a low key local spot.
They have a take out restaurant across the street with similar menu, but this location is ideal...
Read moreJust like Seinfeld's Soupnazi, this Taconazi stands out for its contrast between the excellent food and the obnoxious service. I have been coming here for 20 years, see the burrito photo of 2007, and always ordered the beef burrito. Before Covid, it came with a little salad. During Covid the salad disappeared, so now I order mesquite salad in addition. Not cheap but both the salad and the soft tasty beef are so good! I was there last week with my son, ordered two beef burritos, and one salad. We got one burrito and the salad. P. the waiter thought I had only ordered one. When the second one came after a long wait it turned out to be a chicken burrito. My son, who can't speak, had already wolfed down the first burrito, probably chicken as well. I showed P. the wrong burrito, and... he started accusing me of lying about my order! Very funny but still. I then asked for the manager, C., and told him I wanted to pay, but only for what I had ordered and received. No apologies, but he implicitly admitted the bad service when he said he himself gets bad service at Safeway (?!) all the time. Very funny again. He was a little aggressive and insisted I pay for the chicken burrito, because my son had eaten it. I will wait a while before going back there. Until P. and C. are gone. Can't...
Read moreTerrible experience, went with a friend that I grew up here with in Los Gatos. I got a $18 dollar burrito & water. The charge on my debit card was $29, when I called the restaurant to try & clear up “why was a burrito & water $30?” I was told it was because my friend had ordered a bit more than I did & the waiter just split the bill 50/50 despite us not ordering the same thing but “that the waiter explained the bill would be split evenly 50/50 & not by what we ordered.” But guess what? The waiter did no such thing, in fact when I asked him “can you charge us for our bill separately?” He said “yes no problem.” So he straight lied to me, and then lied to the person on the phone talking to me claiming “he explained it to me.” I live in Los Gatos still & will NEVER be ordering from Andales or going to Andales again. That they wouldn’t refund me the difference on what I hadn’t ordered but was charged for and then LIE about it was beyond the pale, I’ll be sharing this experience about a $29 burrito & water, a burrito that’s $19 on the menu, with everyone I know. If you read this I suggest you eat somewhere else like Pedro’s if you want Mexican, which is down the street on...
