If you come for dragon ball because of the lawsuit like I did, you are bound to be disappointed. But if you come for good food, you are in the right place.
Let me cut to the chase. Given the lawsuit alleges that this dish causes chemical burns, I was expecting hotter than usual spicy. Dragon ball is a disappointment to this extent. It is objectively mild by any standard. Yes, I am used to Sichuan food. But that is also why I was ready to taste something that is hotter than that. Other than this point, the dragon ball is quite tasty if you want some spice but cannot take too much heat.
As we only had a quick lunch, and I am not versed in Thai flavors. So, I will skip commenting on food. (The other dish we ordered was Thai BBQ pork with sticky rice. It is also well prepared, although personally I would like it better if meat is marinated more. Other than the dipping sauce for the BBQ, these dishes taste closer to milder, Southern Chinese than Southeast Asian food. The coconut ice cream they say they got from a shop on the street, on the other hand, has a unique texture that we like very much. We went to the shop afterward, but they do not sell that flavor.)
The restaurant has a welcoming air, elegant lighting, and is very stylishly decorated. (Food plating is also delicate.) Given this is downtown Los Gatos, there is amble free parking nearby. We arrived a little after lunch time and got seated quickly. The server is very attentive as you expect from a South Asian joint. Overall, Coup de Thai is a very pleasant...
Read moreI recently visited this gem of a Thai restaurant on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of good friends, and the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and seated promptly. Tully, our server, was a standout! She was super attentive, friendly, and made sure our entire dining experience was flawless. She and her team brought out our food quickly, constantly checked in to make sure everything was to our liking, and even kept our water glasses full without us having to ask.
As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. We started with the tofu Panang curry with brown rice, which had a perfect balance of spice and richness. The Pad Kee Mao with tofu was equally delicious, with fresh flavors and a perfect texture to the noodles. The highlight of the meal was the crab curry special—savory and packed with flavor, it was a unique dish that elevated the entire meal.
We paired our dishes with a variety of drinks, including the Anchan lemonade, mango iced tea, and classic Thai iced tea—all refreshing and delicious, complementing the food perfectly. To round out our meal, we shared the coconut delight for dessert, a creamy and satisfying end to an already perfect dining experience.
Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The combination of delicious food and Tully's exceptional service made it truly memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine with...
Read moreThis is only for take out review: Ordered online for a pickup order due at 6:45PM. I arrived around 6:50 and waited outside for stuff to come to me (didn't enter into the restaurant as it is my first pickup at this place, not sure it is polite to enter into to disturb other customers, so I just wait quietly outside). Then a stuff come to me and I said I am waiting for my pickup order and gave my name. Then for 15 mins, all the stuff come and goes busy serving customer, no one talks to me any longer. My biggest concern is, at least let me know: 1. order has been received and being prepared, 2. need to wait another 10 or 20 mins (which is fine by me as I understand sometimes busy hours can be). Then I have to come to the store directly (as I see other pickup customers there interacting with the stuff), and the stuff who I gave my name to didn't seem to be interested, just impatiently asks me to talk to her supervisor.
My family has been had lunch/dinner at this place for maybe 5~6 times, and every time the experience is very good, especially the stuff called Tylor (apology if spelling is incorrect), let us feel super welcomed and took good care of us on my daugther's B-day party during the dinner. Yesterday, it changed my view of this store and all the stuff that day seems all emotionless and and not...
