We, a family of 4 adults and a toddler stopped by Golden Triangle( Los Gatos ) this evening to grab a quick bite before heading home. We had been out all day and it was raining, we just decided to spend some time together at the restaurant. Let me start off by saying that we've been here multiple times and have never really had any issues. We have almost always enjoyed the food and the ambience. Not sure what went wrong yesterday. When we entered the restaurant and asked for a table, the staff at the entrance asked if he had a reservation ( we did not know we needed one, we've never really had to make one in the past), and we said we didn't. She was polite and did let us know that the table she was willing to offer was reserved for another party that was coming in an hour later and that we would have to leave by then. We agreed and she seated us. We sensed some irritation when we asked for a high chair for my toddler but we just brushed it aside as we knew that they were busy and were probably in a rush, we were provided one nonetheless. Next, I asked another hostess if there was a baby diaper changing station in the restroom and she snapped back with "What changing station? I repeated my question with more clarity , this time around she just responded with "No! Just a restroom!" with some amount of irritation which again, I didn't think much of. She handed out the menu and repeated "you don't have too much time to order, ok?" The hostess that checked us in came back to take our orders and we did let her know that we were ready to place an order for our toddler and that we would be ready in a couple of mins to order main course for the adults. She got upset and started rushing us and said "ok no, I was clear that we have only one hour for you , ok? You have to order soon" and just then my 2.5 year old daughter reached out to shake her hand and said "Hello, nice to meet you!" (I have a chatty toddler and she was just happy to be at the restaurant), she withdrew her hand in annoyance and walked away and said that we would have to decide and that she would return in a few mins to take our order. This attitude, is something that I do not appreciate. I'm not expecting every person out there to oblige and to reciprocate to friendly attitude from a toddler , but she needn't have reacted the way she did and we did not have to be reminded every 5 mins that there was a countdown. If they were super busy, they could have told us straight up that they're not able to accommodate us, we would have taken a to-go. We, anyways were prepared to pack the rest of our meal closer to 7pm and head out in case we weren't done by then. All, I want to say is that we aren't paying less just because we have no reservation and do not have to feel obligated to anybody for "accommodating" us! Overall, the food was good but the service was pretty bad! Rude staff! I don't feel motivated to...
Read moreMy experience at Golden Triangle Cuisine Restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite arriving well before their closing time, we were informed that the kitchen would be closing in just five minutes. Nevertheless, we managed to quickly place our order within two minutes. However, our expectations for a pleasant dining experience quickly evaporated.
Within a mere 20 minutes, we were presented with the bill, which only displayed the total amount without any itemized breakdown. We offered a tip and proceeded to pay, assuming that everything was in order. To our surprise, within the next five minutes, a staff member in a dress approached us once again, asking if we wanted boxes to pack our food. At this point, we were not even halfway through our meal, but it was evident that they were in a hurry to close.
It was only later that we realized we should have requested a customized bill, as we were unable to verify the calculations. Much to our dismay, upon closer inspection, we discovered that we had been charged for items we did not even order. Furthermore, an additional gratuity had been added to the bill without any prior notification. This meant that we ended up paying gratuity twice for such abysmal treatment.
To make matters worse, while I was in the process of packing our belongings, the same lady swiftly began clearing the table, as if rushing us to leave. This behavior was truly baffling and added to the overall feeling of rudeness and disrespect we experienced throughout our visit.
In summary, our experience at Golden Triangle Cuisine Restaurant was characterized by a lack of transparency, poor service, and an evident disregard for customer satisfaction. The rushed and careless attitude displayed by the staff, coupled with the unjustified charges, left us thoroughly disappointed. We will certainly not be returning to this establishment and cannot recommend it to others seeking an enjoyable...
Read moreThis little gem is one of the best kept secrets in Los Gatos. While most people think of Golden Triangle as only a Thai restaurant, their extensive menu is heavily influenced by cuisine from throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.
Their food presentations are certainly unique. Order the avocado shrimps salad and you’ll be surprised when five small tulip glasses arrive at your table accompanied by Mexican tortilla chips. We like the appetizer plate of fresh sesame rolls (aka spring rolls) topped with grilled shrimp and served with Vietnamese vinaigrette. It’s also available with smoked salmon and Thai peanut sauce. We also like their Japanese style Yakisoba noodles, sautéed in a spicy (adjusted to your taste) garlic-basil-chili sauce with chicken.
This may be the only downtown Los Gatos restaurant that doesn’t have a liquor license, so bring your own wine or beer and you won’t pay a corkage fee.
Golden Triangle Cuisine is open for both lunch and dinner. The dining room and patio are small but they’ve added extra tables in a temporary “parklet” outside. Service is prompt and friendly, and the servers are all dressed in charming...
