A friend was in town on business and wanted to meet me for dinner. We both enjoy craft beer, so Loma Brewing Co. was the obvious choice. It was a little too chilly to sit outside, there werenât any propane heaters, and the picnic tables didnât look inviting, so we opted for the dining room.
We were anxious to try their house-brewed beers and we werenât disappointed. They always have ten or more on tap. You can choose the number of beers in a flight so he ordered three: âThe Trouble with Tripelsâ which is a strong Belgian style ale, the unusual âSour Sportâ, which he thought had a very definite sour taste, and âAlways Sunny in LGâ, an Irish dry stout. I just had a glass of stout. We agreed that the stout was probably the best of the three, with the same creamy foam head as Guinness but without the heaviness.
For starters, we shared the crispy fried Brussels sprouts which we thought had just the right amount of teriyaki glaze to cut the bitterness. I had the Wagyu Burger without cheese and he ordered the Roadhouse (Wagyu) Burger. Both were perfectly cooked medium-rare. The American Wagyu was more tender and juicy and not as heavy as ordinary beef. The fries were hot but not as crispy as we would have liked.
Service was ok but not terrific. There was only one server for the mostly empty dining room and she seemed to disappear for long stretches of time.
The biggest problem was the noise level. It was almost impossible to hold a conversation without shouting after the DJ in the bar started playing. My handy Soundprint app recorded a peak level of 90db which is deafening. (The average level for conversation should be around 70db.). We hadnât seen one another in a long time and really wanted to talk, so we wouldâve walked out if we hadnât already ordered.
In summary, this might be a good place to go with a group of friends if youâre in a partying mood and want to hang out in the bar to enjoy a couple of craft beers. From our experience, the food, service, and atmosphere were...
Read moreThis was formerly known as Los Gatos Brewing Company. They have evolved, and the evolution has served us all well. Upon entrance, the atmosphere is clean, simple and consistent with current social awareness. You can either step up to the large bar to order from their simple menu, or seat yourself and scan a QR code to bring up the menu and order from there. The menu, while being simple, has familiar food that is actually quite complex! I recommend the Cubano sandwich! The carmelized pork, with melted cheese, abundant pickles and spicy bell pepper slaw was NOTHING short of amazing!! It's backed up with perfect fries (I swear they're air-fryer done) and even the ketchup was delish.đ My wife had the steak tacos, and the meat was almost TOO tender, I think it was ribeye! 4 to a plate, and it's plenty. Nice avocado, lime, and spice, although their chimi-churry on the side was broken and oily. Delicious food, worth the above average price, beer is handcrafted and GREAT, they also can and sell it to go! Charming outdoor seating, abundant parking, friendly staff, and overall GREAT representation of what LG has to offer. I'll be back...

Location and Ambiance
Loma Brewing is conveniently located in Los Gatos and offers comfortable seating inside. It seems like a great spot to relax and catch up with friends.
Beer Selection
While the beer selection wasn't extensive, we tried the Kolsch was good and Loma Vida a Mexican lager was refreshing, Whit You Talkin bout- belgian Whear, and Hazy IPA. All three were decent, but didn't stand out compared to other breweries.
Food Options
The food menu is fairly straightforward, with options like chips and tacos and few more. We found the food to be decent, but not particularly memorable. Our favorite was chicken tinga tacos
The Final Sip
If you're looking for a vast selection of craft beers, Loma Brewing might not be your top pick. However, it's a nice place to visit for a casual hangout session and a sampler of their brews. Ultimately, it's worth checking out for yourself to see if their beers hit the...
