Upstairs bar with a glamorous feel, in a great Los Gatos location, that features live bands.
This is one of those bars that's been known more to locals, another hidden gem that I share with people, but then think, hmm, do I want everyone knowing about this place?
The bar has a spacious feel, with a wall of lit up windows. The narrow deck shares the view overlooking the green, in front of the post office. Behind the bar is a gorgeous lit up stain glass tree making it one of my favorite bars for ambiance. The live music is welcoming, and there's a friendly vibe over-all, although there's always been locals frequenting this venue throughout it's history. You'll often see a guy tearing up the dance floor, (looks like he could be Ronald Reagan's cousin) That's the owner, who's to thank for the staff and bar's fun feel. Generally the more mature than the college aged crowd, brings in a nice mix of Bay Area people, and varies by the bands and the night. This is definitely a worthwhile pub stop before or after going over the hill, or making it a night...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this bar on New Year's Eve. A bald man, who seemed to be trying to act as a manager, threatened to throw me off the balcony. Thankfully, the bouncers intervened and helped to diffuse the situation. However, our group was inexplicably made out to be the main perpetrators in the altercation. This man had an overinflated ego and his behavior was completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this establishment.
I hope to see some changes made so that I can have a better experience on my next visit. I really enjoy this bar for what it is and would like to come back, but some improvements are necessary. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with someone in management or someone with the authority to make changes at the establishment. I don't want to see a repeat of the issues I encountered and I believe that with some adjustments, this bar has the potential to provide an excellent experience for...
Read moreThe lady at the front (next to the guy with the beard who was asking for money) was extremely disrespectful from the very start. I was in the process of handing over my $10 cover when my friend decided not to pay since the place was about to close, so we chose to leave. As I was getting my money back, she repeatedly told us to “leave, hurry, get out,” in a very rude tone. There was absolutely no reason for that level of disrespect — especially since we hadn’t caused any trouble. She was rude from the moment we arrived, and that’s not how you treat customers or even potential customers. I’ve worked in nightclubs longer than she’s probably been doing this, and I’ve been to many venues — I’ve never experienced this kind of attitude at the door. Totally unprofessional and disappointing especially for a...
