Cafe Du Monde — Restaurant in Louisiana

Please hire people that know what they are doing. I went here this morning and ordered a frozen drink. The server asked me what size. There are several cups on the counter, but I knew I only had about $8 on my atm card. I said I wanted the $6.45 size. I would have enough to buy the drink. I asked the server which is the $6.45 size, he pointed to a large cup. I go to the cash register and the cashier says I owe her .54 cents. I looked at the register and it said $8.54 . I told her I ordered the $6.45 drink. I told her just to cancel the transaction and re-ring it for the cheaper price. She goes to the back room to get a manager, This manger has no clue what she is doing and keeps trying to re-ring the $8.54. She kept saying it was impossible. I said just give me the drink and take the .54 cents out of the tip jar. I didn’t screw up the order, it was the server and the manger. I ended up with no drink, several charges for a drink that was incorrect, and an incompetent manager. The whole staff had no idea how to take their mistake and make it right. Cafe Du Monde needs at least one person there that knows what to do. I knew I should’ve gone to Starbucks or PJs. Lakeside, please put a PJs in Lakeside Mall. Get rid of Cafe Du Monde and all the incompetent people...

Don't get this wrong, I am a huge fan of this place. I hate to give them such a poor review but due to the service at this location that's what it deserves. The parking lot was full to capacity so we settled on going through the drive thru. Huge mistake! We ordered two cafe au laits & 2 orders of beignets, from there we hit the road. Much to our dismay our coffee was extremely bitter. I could tell by the color there wasn't enough cream. I ended up tossing my $7 coffee. (I did get a souvenir cup by getting a large) We couldn't eat the beignets in the rental car without getting powdered sugar EVERYWHERE. We had hoped to eat inside but it was packed out with no overflow parking available. I realize it's a popular place & especially down on Royal you should expect a wait but I wish they offered more parking space here by the airport even if you have to wait in a line inside. You cannot eat these things without making a mess! Once we reached our destination the beignets had started to get hard & unfortunately lost that hot & fresh allure they hold. Wish we had just endured the French Quarter for the original cafe du monde, the sit down tables & hot beignets....

It's Sunday morning. 11:01. The dining room lights are still off, the gate on the counter is almost halfway down, the girl behind the counter looks miserable. I couldn't get her to smile. She was almost pouting. A manager is on the dining room side of the counter wiping it down and ignoring customers in line. The woman in front of me has paid but is trying to speak to the manager about her order. The manager is looking at her but reaching her free hand at me, for my payment I suppose. I pay and take a seat. 10 minutes later, one of the women yells at the top of her lungs describing my order to let me know it is ready. I've lost my craving for beignets at the...
