COLD DAY IN HELL ! Yesterday evening I arrived at 5pm to check on a reservation for a private dining room that I had made 3 months ago for a group of 18. I was told that my reservation was on their agenda for that evening - no mention of any problem. My group began to arrive, but then at about 5:30pm another large group arrives and CLAIMS they have the meeting room reserved (but they are NOT on the agenda for that evening). Person greeting incoming customers says: "I don't handle bookings". Even the restaurant manager on duty that evening also tells me: "I don't handle bookings" and we will have to wait until the person who does handle bookings arrives. What a joke - PASS THE BUCK AND NOBODY CAN MAKE A DECISION, SHOWING TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE 36 CUSTOMERS. In the meantime, and its more than an hour after I arrived at the restaurant at 5pm, there are 2 large groups of about 35 people STANDING in the small entrance area of this restaurant, waiting for a decision. Remember this other group is NOT on the books, but they CLAIM they made a reservation 6 months ago. After a very long wait, the booking guru arrives and moves the other group into the meeting room that I was told was for us at 5pm that evening - with my 18 guests looking on in utter disbelief. Of course, rather than lose the business of my 18 guests, they would be happy to seat us spread out throughout their regular seating areas. Another insult! Needless to say, after this slap in the face and embarrassment they put me through, we would not be dining there. Luckly (last minute) we got group seating at Zea's, across the street and only a few minutes away from these clowns. Now, do you understand why it will be A COLD DAY IN HELL before I walk through the doors of COPELAND'S COVINGTON LOCATION every again. A restaurant that does not honor a 5:30pm booking, that I was told at 5:00pm was on the books , DOESN'T DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SCREW OVER ANY OTHER COVINGTON AREA CUSTOMERS. Because of this comedy of errors and completely incompetent management, COPELAND'S IN COVINGTON has lost the business of 18 very disappointed customers. NO INTEGRITY, NO CREDIBILITY will shut down this 3rd. class...
Read moreSo where do I start. From the moment I walked in I was loving the vibe. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful looking. The front server was absolutely very accommodating asking where we preferred to sit and sitting us in a lovely booth. We then received a lovely welcome from our waiter Evan. I asked Evan for any recommendations on starters, drinks, etc. Evan recommended that we try the Hot Crab Claws as a starter. We chose to go with Evan’s suggestion. Evan let us know that we were still in time for there happy hour specials as well. So we decided to add the Spinach & Artichoke Dip as a starter as well. I also ordered a beer that was local and suggested by Evan. I don’t remember the name but it was delicious low IBU’s and 8%alc. We also placed our order of the Cat Fish Platter and The Veal Copeland. Our appetizer were brought out and all I can say is gosh damn it was a beautiful thing. The Hot Crab Claws were in a lovely sauce that you could take a bath in. The Spinach & Artichoke dip was served with Fried bow tie pasta which was a great idea and paired well with the dip. Then are Entrees were served. The Cat Fish Platter was beautifully presented as was The Veal Copeland. The cat fish was crispy and moist. Fries nicely seasoned and crispy. And the biscuit was beautiful too. Now The veal Copeland was served with shrimp and crab linguine and a lovely sauce as well as a biscuit. It was very delicious and was hands down amazing. The Crispy Veal and creamy pasta paired lovely together. I then had a JUICIFER IPA this beer is local and hands down my favorite. I finished off with a local strawberry whiskey and when I say holy smoothness I mean it. Everything I had was a 10/10 with some great inspiration and twist. Evan was absolutely amazing and provided exceptional service. If you have not eaten here please give it a try and I guarantee you won’t be...
Read moreI came in with my mom and sister on October 3rd around 6 pm. Our server took about 10 minutes to greet us. She brought our drinks and my mom said she would like to order 2 of the chicken parmesan sandwiches, one to go for my dad later. We also got the crawfish bread. It had been about 20 minutes and we hadn’t seen our server. She finally came back and said the sandwiches were almost ready…even thought one was meant to be to go. We let her know the second one was supposed to be togo but it was too late and it was cold by the time we left. As we waited 10 more minutes for our food to come out, we noticed the server had gotten sat two more times, and both tables waited at least 15 minutes to be greeted. After our meal was over, I had to ask someone walking past if they could grab our server because she hadn’t been seen since our food hit the table. She came out the back of the kitchen. I will give her grace because she was heavily pregnant, but going out to eat is meant to be a good experience, especially when your job is based on tips. Our food was also disgusting, soggy and cold. So right after we left, I called and asked to speak with a manager. The hostess says she will transfer me. Then the next person says she will transfer me. The phone hangs up. I leave a message with my phone number and name…no response! So here’s my review, and i have never written one before....
