My experience at this hotel was horrible. My reservations were made through an employee's family and friends rate back in July for our stay in October. I purposely made the reservation was from Friday to Monday; since we were traveling from Texas, which is almost an 8 hour drive, and anticipated that we wouldn't get here until the wee hours of Saturday morning. We got in about 8am Saturday morning only to learn that since I didn't call ahead and let them know I was still coming, they cancelled my reservation. I was a little disappointed, because I didn't know their policy, but I understood. Initially, the clerk, Leona, who seemed a little frazzled with the whole situation (who later told me she was fairly new so I understood) told me there were no available rooms, but after doing some more checking she found one, but she couldn't get it for the employee friends and family rate. I asked to speak a manager, because I'm thinking this should be an easy fix/override. Leona told me the manager is off on weekends, but she can have the manager call me. Within minutes, the manager was on the phone at the front desk and she was SO RUDE!!! The manager's name is Kathy and it was clear she didn't appreciate being bothered on her day off. She got on the phone and was in defensive mode and had a very condescending attitude as she told me about their reservation policy and I had to let her know she was dealing with the wrong one. I am the customer and even though I was uninformed about their policy, there was no way she should be talking to me like that! I will be reporting her to senior level management or whoever I need to, so she can know that is not how you handle with customer service.
Then we finally get into our room and it reeked of mildew! I went down to the front office to tell the clerk and a man was in front of me complaining about the same thing saying his room had mold and mildew and how the building is 20 years overdue for a renovation and needs to be shut down. He checked out because of it, I was too, but they moved us to another room. It smelled much better, but after being gone for 4-6 hours there will still a little stench, but nowhere as bad as the first room. Lastly, I was taking a shower and when I unfolded the rug/towel for me to step out on a little brown roach came out of nowhere. I was thoroughly disgusted. The only good thing about this hotel is their beds are comfortable. Sorry so long, but I hope this helps someone. I had a better stay last year at the less appealing looking Clarion Inn...
Read moreI have stayed at this location several times and I have never had a problem. The staff have always been friendly. This stay (3/31/25) changed my outlook completely!
: around 5:30pm my 13 yo son with Down syndrome got sick while lying in the bed and vomited on the blanket. Immediately we went down stairs and notified the front desk lady about the situation and also to see if we could get a clean blanket for the night and her response was “ummm, I’m not really sure how to handle that” and she didn’t try to figure it out so I said ok and my son and I took a walk around outside and then went back to our room. We ended up sleeping with the blanket with vomit. We were woken up at 6:30 by lawn care so we got up and went and had breakfast and then left at 8am but there was no one at the desk when we left so I called back around 1015ish to verify that we were checked out. The lady that answered confirmed that we were indeed checked out and the said “ I do have a question, was that vomit on the blanket?” I could tell she was not happy about this and I understood that. I said yes and explained the situation from the night before and informed her about me notifying the front desk lady that was on night shift duty. She said “well I’m just letting you know that if we cannot get the vomit out of the blanket you will be charged for it bc that is considered damaging property and you will have to pay for the blanket”. I was in shock and just said ok bc I didn’t know what else to say! It wasn’t like we were having a wild party with drinking and I got sick and vomited on the bed, it was my 13 yo son with special needs!! I cleaned the blanket the best I could and tried to handle the situation the best I could but received no help in finding a solution! We had to sleep with that blanket with vomit bc we couldn’t get a clean one! I guess we will be staying somewhere else...
Read moreThe Assistant manager insistent on banking on our room door herself wants another desk staff being second and third housekeeping . Although we were paid for the day I got up and answered the door for her to accuse me of smoking in "room".... She then proceeded to push her way into my room and inform me that she was calling law. Enforcement to remove me. Because I was evicted for smoking cigarettes . She took her cell phone out and started taking pictures of my belongings. When I finally told her that I was gonna wait on the police because she decided to physically. Try to push me out of my doorway. I walked downstairs to smoke a cigarette. She locked my key cord. So I couldn't get back in my room ... Very rude, not professional brooms were under clean Lenin's headstains. Elevator was broken and had a horrible smell. Coming from the carpet in the room. Instead of complaining, I simply win it. Got carpet freshener and for breeze which ultimately what's her reason for accusing me of smoking in the room because I was trying to" Cover the smell up" To say the least, you can tell this was her dream job as a child. She takes it very seriously .... Of course, I meant that in the most sarcastic way ever. Worst experience ever when It came to renting a room for the night.I would honestly strongly advise anyone to find somewhere else to infest their hard eared money if you have to stay some...
