I always have loved the food at Daiwa. I always recommend it to my friends who visit the westbank. But I'm getting frustrated by their process on how they seat their guests. Both of my last two visits had issues with long wait times even when there are multiple open tables. What happened on Saturday - I get there at 8 pm, it's busy but there are three table tops open (2 four tops and 1 double) and only three people sitting at the sushi bar. My friend and I told the host we would be okay going to the sushi bar because they have open seats. She told us she could not sit us because other people with larger parties who came before us were waiting and they had to seat them first before letting us go to the open seats at the sushi bar!? I didn't understand that because we were going to the bar and not one of the tables they needed to use for the large group... Didn't make sense to me. We actually ran into two family members and decided to eat together so one four top. Still ended up waiting 30 minutes, which honestly isn't terribly long, but the fact that there were open table tops while we just sat there was annoying (and they were still open when they sat us at a booth). Maybe their management needs to refocus on the Marrero location and not...
Read moreCheck your to go order before you leave. Ive never had a problem with daiwa missing anything out of my order before so i left and went home. When i got home one box had 2 orders of crunchy rolls then the other box had two other rolls. I ordered 5 orders of rolls. So i called to let them know that one order of crunchy rolls was missing and the girl said thats impossible i packed it myself. Well it is possible because one order was missing. I spent over $30 on rolls for someone to act like i wanted a free $5 roll. Like i would just want to drive back there to cheat them. I told her dont worry about it and i will never order from them again.
To the owners response... my order was missing an order of rolls. I dont care if you think an order wasnt missing because it was. This is why i made this review. I have been going to daiwa for years and i will never go back because of this. The girl on the phone just kept saying it was impossible. She never once said bring the food back and we will fix it so after her repeating herself like i was lying i then told her dont worry about it and i will never be back again. You just lost a customer that has been going there for years for a $5...
Read moreOur waitress has a really bad attitude taking our order. We had 3 adults and 2 kids. She charged us gratuity saying it’s for parties of 4 or more. By law it’s 5 or more and they must remove it when requested. There’s nowhere stating gratuity are added to parties of 4. To make matters worse I placed a to go order on a separate check, she added in tips for herself also for a to go order. I asked if they can cancel it before it got to the table because it was not what I intended to order. She said no she can’t take it off. I asked for the manager. The manager did not care and said all sales are final. Well any other places I’ve dined at. If you don’t touch the food or if it never came to the table, then you can cancel it with no problems. I’m a regular here and would never come back here again. It’s new owners that’s going downhill from here on. It’s new staff who don’t care about service. Have fun making...
