I have to start off by saying that I love Izzo's, but I was extremely disappointed to see how much we were skimped on last night.
My husband and I get the same thing each time we go, as we have it down packed on what we love, so we order it each time.
The amount of food that went into making my burrito and his bowl, was cut in half. One tiny pinch of pork was put onto my burrito, which didn't even cover the length of the tortilla.
My burrito wasn't full at all and I the meat was lost, to where it tasted like I was eating onions and sauce with a tid bit of rice.
My husband's bowl was also skimpy as ever. It was half the size that we normally get.
We are paying the same price and ordering the exact same thing that we've always ordered, so what's up with the one tiny pinch of meat? You guys have always put two nice sized pinches on with the tongs. This was pinched only from the tips of the tongs, which was really sad, as I said, it didn't even cover the tortilla. Imagine taking bites that had nothing in that side, but sauce. That's what it was.
Instead of my usual overstuffed burrito, I got a soggy half filled tortilla that was swimming in the sauces that usually goes on top.
I had to open up the burrito towards the end to try to find the meat, as nearly every bite I had, didn't contain any meat.
What little shredded pork I had, was lost and I couldn't even find it once I opened it up. It lacked that much!
My husband's bowl also lacked in comparison to our usual orders. I simply couldn't believe how light handed this server was, who made our dishes. I usually have left overs to bring home. This time, I had nothing but the end of a wet soggy tortilla that had nothing in it.
Very sad to know that you guys are skimping on your loyal repeat customers. I didn't question when I saw it was so little. I just accepted it without complaining; However, I am really bothered by this.
All we did was look at each other in disbelief when the guy serving us, dipped the tips of his tongs into the pork and pulled out so very little and tried to shrug it off.
Was this just a fluke thing or are you guys now cutting portion sizes by more than half?
If this is going to be your new norm, we will have to reconsider coming back, as this is NOT the IZZO'S we are accustomed to having.
I'm hoping this was just a fluke. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and a free pass on this one.
Hopefully, you will respond with an explanation. Was this guy not trained properly or was he instructed by management to cut the portion sizes by more than half?
Only you know the answer to this question, so I'm asking you, which is it? You're charging the same prices, but are skimping on your portion sizes.
This was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING to say the least. Once you're in line and you've got someone custom making your order, it's kind of hard just to walk away and say no.... that's not what I ordered, but maybe we should have, because it wasn't what we were expecting when we...
Read moreI used to love Izzo's, but after my experience yesterday I doubt i will be back again. The only reason im giving them 2 stars is because their customer service was nice at least, but food wise they completely dissappointed both me and my boyfriend. We both got regular steak burrito meals, and we were both lacking the steak in it, it was mainly beans and sour cream in mine, with a few pieces of steak, burnt steak may i add at that, which normally i coule of been okay with, if there was at least enough in there, was awfully dissappointing, i usually can barely get through half of my burrito, but i ate the whole thing and still wasnt satisfied. Then we both got the queso for our chips, their queso used to be my favorite thing about this place, it was horrible yesterday, it was completely liquid, like melted butter, wouldnt even stick to the chip and was pointless attempting to eat it. I payed $25 for all this and couldnt of been more upset, dont bother wasting your time or money here any longer, youll only be ripped off, dissappointed and left hungry...
Read moreI'm usually in Izzo's every other week, its a quick drive from the UNO campus and they stay open until 10 most days which is perfect for me since I often get off at 9. I absolutely love the food and can honestly say I'm addicted to their illegal and super felony burritos, and my favorite the nachos! Everyone is very nice especially the management who I was surprised to find out actually recognized me as a regular, and they give a great helping which is stuffed into a giant burrito tortilla. It's honestly my favorite establishment to eat out at as it is affordable and you get more food for your money. Everything is totally fresh and prepared daily (sometimes you'll catch em preparing it in the back) and healthy which is a big deal for me especially as a college student in a world of fast food and late nights. If you're ever in Metairie or on the Westbank of the Mississippi River there's one in Harvey now too I highly recommend that you give this place a try especially if you're a huge burrito fan like I am,...
