Not only has the service gone down significantly over the past few months, but now there is a health concern at Little Tokyo! I went for dinner this past Wednesday on June 15th and we were sat on the right side of the restaurant. After we placed our order and received our drinks, I happened to look up and noticed the SWARM of flying insects right about the sushi prep area. No one working there seemed bothered by the fact that these termites were flying right above where people’s food was being prepared. I called the server over immediately after noticing and as I pointed it out, he explained to me that the owner had the back door open because their was no A/C in the kitchen. He then went on to tell me that he told the owner he shouldn’t do that, but did anyway. Ironically, as the server stood over our table assuring us he would make sure there were no insects in our sushi, I pointed to his shirt as he had a termite crawling on him. I’m absolutely appalled and disgusted a restaurant owner would find this acceptable to keep his restaurant open only to hope there were no flying insects being served in his restaurant. I will be calling the health department to report this egregious violation as your actions have demonstrated you have no concern for the health and safety of your patrons. I have a video of the swarm, but Google maps will not allow videos posted so this picture will have to suffice. Don’t say you weren’t warned if you continue to patronize this place!

First time here, and it was ok. The sushi rolls( I can not remember one of them, but the other was a mystery roll) were ok but not great. The appetizer jalapeño poppers was delicious. The myso ramen was delicious. The shrimp gyoza soup was ok. The gyoza was delicious, but the broth was just ok. The shrimp shumai was delicious. I didn't care for the waitress. She seemed to be in a rush, or she was very impatient. She is definitely not the person for a customer who has questions. She answered what I asked, but her actions showed differently. The pics are the two sushi rolls. The light color one is the mystery roll. There were more on the plate. I had forgotten to take the pic before I started eating. The other one, I forgot what it was called. The other picture is the jalapeño poppers. I didn't take a pic of the ramen because I forgot. The gayoza soup wasn't anything but broth 3 gyozas and some green onions. The shrimp shumai, I will up load a pic later. All in all, it wasn't that bad not to visit again, but it wouldn't be the first choice for the sushi rolls.

This is my favorite late night place to eat in Metairie. The food is great, they have a decent sake selection, and the service is unbeatable! Extra kudos to Rick for always going above and beyond to make my visits (and everyone else’s) a top notch experience. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and the portions are large. The owner is from Japan, so he knows good sushi and would never allow sub-par seafood to be served here. The soups and noodle dishes are fantastic! There are many wonderful appetizers, my favorite is the eggplant. (Get it with rice!) The fried trout, when it is available as a special, is incredible. I have never had a bad dish here, and I go here regularly. Seriously. The desserts are a nice surprise, too! Pictured below is the Corton Candy Cheesecake - which is incredible!!! Everything is. I took pictures of all the menus on a visit in March, 2023; the menu hasn’t changed too much in the past ten years. I’ll probably go back this weekend… well worth the trip!

let me start with , yes the food is delicious and soooo good. but the service was so bad )-: , from the moment we got there (group of only 5) (only needed 2 separate check) (was there for my little sisters bday) the service was terrible, our waitress came to our table with an attitude. i understand how it can be working in the food industry and i understand that things can get a little overwhelming at some point but to greet us with an attitude? it was just uncalled for but we didn’t mind. skip to us ordering , she was rushing , only kept looking down at her note pad. after we were done ordering she said how many checks and as a soon as i was about to tell her only 2 she said OK ILL JUST ASK LATER and quickly walked away. at that point i was like ok maybe she’s just busy. we asked for a side of eel sauce , twice. she wouldn’t bring it to us & when she did she had a poker face . as we are done eating she comes back again and i tell her about the 2 checks. she brings them and they both have added gratuity of 20%. i am aware waitresses live off tips and i’ve alllllways been a generous tipper, but it was giving more of an offense than anything as i already had my 20 bucks in my hand. it was a quick meal, service was bad and the fact that she felt the need to add the tip before hand was just rude. I was ready to give her more until i saw that . again food was good , so if you are having some sushi cravings ( naruto roll ) just order to go because you won’t feel welcomed there! sorry but not sorry . also some creep kept looking at my table that had 3 underage girls seated , i know it’s not the restaurants...

Been ordering from them for 3yrs+ Idk who they been hiring in the last year or so but these new employees of theirs truly lack hospitality and people skills, are rude, disrespectful and this place is becoming a joke. Their food is decent BUT the service is HORRIBAD! No.1 reason why I just order to pick up so I don't have to deal with their employees. About two weeks ago my order was for a pickup at 5:20pm. Arrived at 5:19pm, sit there and didn't get food until 5:51pm. "We're just so busy today, sorry." was the excuse. 14 total headcounts in the place. I decided to give them another chance. Ordered online again pickup for 7:30pm tonight. Arrived 7:27pm. Employee informs me they have my order wrong, and they are remaking it. Extra wait time. You would think a complimentary Iced tea or glass of water would be offered. Instead, while I am trying to explain to the young man about basic customer courtesy he wants to 'educate' me how to place online orders - Facts: Take the NOTE section out of online menu if your employees don't read them anyway, show respect and curtesy to customers who are made to wait extra time for your own failures and SO MANY OF EMPLOYEES use no gloves, no hairnets, walking with hair down their back, scratching their noses, etc....
