So I was not originally going to post a review for a day of not great service because everyone has off days but since trying to resolve an issue that came from that day unsuccessfully with management I no longer think this was a one off experience. On 3/5, my sister and I stopped at this Main Squeeze to pick up smoothies for lunch. We were able to easily park in their tiny lot and when we walked in there was one person ahead of us in line and maybe 2-3 people sitting and waiting for their order. There were two employees working the front counter/smoothie area. My sister ordered her one smoothie quickly. When I went to order mine, I tapped my card too soon which messed up the transaction. That was my fault, I did not realize I had to wait for the totaled out order. She reset it and told me to tap my card which I did. The screen just spun. She then pointed to a different screen and said you have to pick a tip first. So I clicked a tip amount and the screen reset. No option for a receipt, nothing that the card transaction went through, nothing. The girl told me that it did not go through and to try again. I tapped my card, it successfully said transaction complete and I hit text receipt. The receipt never actually texted. We then ended up waiting almost an hour for those two smoothies. While that seems an exaggeration, it sadly was not. The guy employee who was only making orders would sometimes literally walk in a circle then just stop and stare while holding the blender jar until the other girl would redirect. Then after every order they filled they would have a conversation/ argument on who was making what and what they had actually made. I would like to say they were slammed, but the two online orders that came in about 30 mins after us also stood around waiting and the drive thru did not seem to slammed either. Eventually we were handed our two drinks without any apology or hey sorry for the wait but we were able to leave and that’s all that mattered at that point. Both of our smoothies were under blended and chunky but tasted find and we moved on. When I checked my card statement the next day, I had two charges on my debit card. One for the amount of the smoothie and the other for the price of the smoothie with the tip amount I chose. Both were pending and I figured that the one without tip would drop off after a few days. Both charges ended up finalizing. I tried to call to see if I could resolve this over the phone. I could never get someone to answer so we went back in person. They were able to pull the receipts from that day but the manager was not in. We were assured the manager would call back to discuss the issue but it’s been several days with no call back. I’m greatly disappointed because I’ve recently discovered this place and really like their protein punch. I typically hate protein powders so if I find something like this I like I tend to stick with it. I’m not sure however that smoothie is worth the poor customer service, long wait times, and double the price so I most likely will not be going back.
Edit: I did email main squeeze after they reached out on the google review for me to email them to discuss what happened further. They asked for my phone number to call which I did give them along with my availability. I never received a follow up call or another email. I feel like this confirms how unresponsive their...
Read moreGreat place so I thought. I understand freedom of choice regarding food and that's understandable. But I never knew how high the sugar content of the smoothie bowls was until I checked online. Many people will likely experience a hyperglycemic response with sugar content that high. Now glycemic regulation is complex with many factors involved, yet where there's smoke there's fire. When I saw the total carbohydrate and sugar content online, I was blown away. Many of these bowls contain over 100 g of carbohydrates with nearly 70 g of sugar. That's essentially an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) level (75g)! Now that's not so much the reason for this review. The main reason is because I sent an email to the company about this and never got a reply. I was simply looking for empathy and understanding not change. I do understand they have the elevate versions, which are less sugar but it also seems that these are not very visible to customers either. I had to dig and look for it to find it. So perhaps in the future I'll try again and try one of these elevate versions, which would probably be much better since the sugar and carbohydrate content are much...
Read moreI decided to try a change of pace from my normal smoothie place after my workout. I had a bogo for a smoothie, bowl, or cold pressed juice at Main Squeeze. I will admit i passed the shop my first attempt. Because of the low key color palette, it's hard to notice from busy Veterans Blvd. Its right after the light, so if you pass Lowes you have gone too far. The staff greeted me warmly and were very willing to explain their menu items. Service was very quick so it was a great choice for my lunch break. I chose a 16 oz acai berry bowl which was delicious. It had fresh banana, honey, almond milk, granola and blueberries. Main Squeeze also serves a 12oz or 24 oz smoothie with 12 choices of flavors. There's also hot coffee such as, matcha latte. And chai latte. Next trip I might try a frozen blended coffee or a celery juice detox drink. I saw that they also serve premade pasta salad in the cooler section. The nice manager also gave me additional bogo coupons to...
