I don’t usually write reviews for my bad experiences but During my recent visit to Mano’s Po-Boys, I encountered numerous serious health and sanitation concerns that I feel compelled to report. These issues not only compromised the quality of the dining experience but also raised significant questions regarding food safety, hygiene, and professionalism within the establishment.
To begin, the seafood I was served had an unmistakably unpleasant odor and tasted as though it had been left out far too long. It lacked any freshness and was clearly not fit to be served. After taking only a single bite, I became extremely nauseous and later experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I was unable to finish my meal and had to leave shortly thereafter due to the immediate physical discomfort caused by the food.
The unsanitary conditions extended well beyond the kitchen. The drink fountain area was in a highly unhygienic state sticky to the touch and visibly infested with ants and other small insects crawling over both the machine and the surrounding drink cups. This presents a clear health hazard and is a serious violation of basic cleanliness standards.
Furthermore, the floors throughout the restaurant were exceptionally sticky, as though they had not been cleaned in quite some time. Walking through the space felt uncomfortable and unsanitary. Most alarming was the condition of the restroom, which emitted an overpowering sewage odor. The smell was so intense that it permeated the dining area, creating an unpleasant atmosphere for anyone attempting to enjoy their meal.
To make matters worse, one of the employees interacting with customers reeked strongly of marijuana. The odor was unmistakable and highly inappropriate in a food service environment. This raises concerns not only about professionalism but also about the ability of staff to perform their duties safely and effectively.
In summary, my visit to Mano’s Po-Boys was deeply disappointing and concerning. The combination of spoiled food, insect presence, filthy conditions, a bathroom that reeked of sewage, and an employee under the influence created an unacceptable dining experience. I strongly urge the management to take immediate and serious corrective action. For the safety and well-being of future patrons, I also recommend that local health authorities inspect the premises to ensure compliance with public...

Read moreMy father & I have been dining at Mano’s for lunch every Friday for a little over 25 years now and that says it all! Mano’s is our favorite restaurant in all of Metairie. The menu is extensive from po-boys to home cooked meals and even breakfast. There has never been a dish that I didn’t like. Everything has that comforting homemade quality and the portions are large enough to bring some home or share with someone else. One of the great things about this place is the top notch service… despite how it may be, they are always willing to make adjustments to satisfy the customer from changing things on your order to moving tables and chairs around to accommodate even the largest groups. Since I’m such a picky eater I always seem to have a special request, they never tell me NO which is such a breath of fresh air, many restaurants are unwilling to do this and they always accommodate with a smile. If you have never been to this restaurant I strongly recommend it. You will NOT be disappointed. As for me & Daddy they have 2 happy...
