Very interesting, super quirky spot to grab a bite, coffee, beer, smoothie, cookie, chips, farm fresh eggs, local cheese, local music vinyl LD's... did I mention quirky? ; )
You order, pay and pick up at the counter. There are a few items on shelves, like chips and locally produced stick deodorant (see my review of "Bean" a few block away. Full Stop may have them beat in terms of non sequitur product offerings, and I felt the bar had not been set low.) In the refrigerator section you can buy for example six packs of beer, sodas, local cheese, eggs and sundry items.
I had an espresso (excellent, potent!) a chocolate chip surprise cookie (it was began and awesome tasting....
SPOILER ALERT......
the surprise was an Oreo)
Acia & blueberry smoothie (very tasty) and West 6th IPA on tap, served in Ball mason jars.
This place is on an odd triangular lot at one of this neighborhood's 2 crazy fn intersections. This one is an intersection of 4 streets that do not come together at anything close to right angles. (the other crazy intersection by the way is only a few blocks away where Ellison, Spratt and blank form a 5-way intersection that apparently was designed by an angry 8-year-old with a fascination for large objects colliding at relatively slow speeds. The roadsall seem to approach this large intersection... field? yet none seem to really clearly cross it. They just all meet and then you move through this big uncertain zone where from any direction large section is in your blind spot and no one appears to really know who has the right of way. Anyway, I digress.
The blue painted picnic tables out front front still out ontothis triangular "traffic peninsula space which makes for an interesting spot to sit outside when the weather is nice and enjoy the many treats they serve as cars avoid collisions at an intersection that is certainly the envy of any self-respecting figure 8 stock car track.
The building was built, I'd guess circa 1930s or 40s as a "service station" back when attendants ran out, pumped your gas, cleaned your windshield and checked your tire pressure. They've done a nice job of converting it into a combination coffee shop, drafthouse, quick stop store. It was super clean with very nice bathrooms and lots of light from the glass garage doors (which are open during nice weather) and huge windows.
While this place welcomes everyone, it may not be for everyone, but at least worth a stop in, if nothing else, to see which camp...
Read moreman, i hate doing this but unfortunately i’m having a bad day and when i intentionally go somewhere to make my day better and get treated like a burden, i have to say something. i have noticed that every time i go to full stop, i am treated as if i am a burden. i don’t know if its because of me personally/ if i am annoying or the barista just doesn’t like customers. i was having a tough time and wanted to sit at a coffee shop to just chill out at 6:15. i really love fullstops vibe and atmosphere and on apple maps, it says it closes at 8 pm (proof below) and i knew that they had closed at 7 before so me being stoked, i went there. it seemed as if the barista was cleaning up and i’m not the type of person to come in close to closing, so i just simply asked, “do you close at 7 or 8?” and they seemed annoyed when i had asked that and said, “7.” so i said, “online it said you all were closing at 8 and wanted to make sure.” they then looked at me as if i was lying or stupid and said, “where?” i became flustered and stumbled over my words and they went back to cleaning. i then turned around, mumbled that it was kind of mean that they did that, and left. look, i get it. being a barista is cool and it is also hard at times. but you don’t have to be so freaking mean. i loved full stop but every. single. time. i visit, i feel like a burden. so, i’m unfortunately not going back. truly, i wish you all the best but please realize that sometimes you make or break someone’s day. i don’t want this person to get into any trouble. i just want them...
Read moreMonday around 1:30 at a slower time, I ordered ahead about 25 mins while driving through on way back to Virginia and u get there and they let me know that my food was stolen from the pick up desk. I would re organize where the pick ups are in the place to not be next to the window next to the door and next to staff by the counter instead. This set me back 25 mins, they offered a refund or remake but since I was driving I couldn’t do a refund because I was starving and have a gluten allergy so my options are limited. Really upset, P.S I own a business with 5 stars and have never left a bad review on google. Bacon was $$ for add on and was super thin and skinny. I was going to get a drink but decided not to because of the fiasco, if I was the owner or manager I would have atleast gotten the person a drink while waiting to remake. I ordered at 1:27, got there at 1:46 and it initially said 20 mins and had already been taken by someone so it’s not like I was running behind or anything! To add to this, I understand a lot of places do have a place for pick ups that are accessible for everyone but there typically not next to a door far away from staff and usually on Grubhub, Uber etc witch would mostly be drivers that would read more carefully then general public but they have pick up on clover which is where I ordered.
I would definitely suggest moving the pick up spot, as a Buisness owner this hurts my brain and that was a waste of resources and money on full stops end. I Feel super bad leading a bad review for...
