Harry's American Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Louisville

Sat at the bar tonight. Normally, my wife is with me and we sit in a booth. I ordered the Chicken Tenders and sub my side for the lextonian salad. The bartender said I cannot do that. I told him my wife and I come in here quite often and this is my go to order. He proceeded to get the menu out and said I could only get the salad if I ordered off the Malones menu. I told him I’ve never had to do this before. I told him to go ask a manager. He was obviously pissed that I asked him. When he came back, he advised me that I could have the salad this time, but in the future I would have to order off the Malones. I asked him; “Did the mgr say that or is that just you”? Obviously he was just not wanting to admit he made a mistake in the first place. Once I was ready to checkout, he never asked me if I was a BHG member. I had to tell him I was. He said write your phone number on the ticket and I will see that you get the points. I told him, I had a 5.00 reward. So he took my phone (Apple pay) and went to the register and revised my ticket. Had come to Louisville to visit my mom in nursing home. Wanted to try someplace different, first visit here. We checked out the online reviews and menu. DESPITE All the celebrity names on the walls, what we got was a menu that didn't match the online menu, and the food was at best sub par. The waiter was fine, although he was trying too hard for the kitchen, making at least 2 rounds of excuses while we waited for food, yet failed to refill drinks. Bread and butter were served yet taken away before entrees arrived with basically an are you done yet attitude. $20 hamburger my husband got was without any and I mean any accompaniments. No lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. Had to ask for mustard. My chicken little was served with wilted shredded lettuce and warm mayo type dressing. Fries were greasy. We realized after being seated that this was supposed to be a hi-end restaurant, yet we persevered. Honestly, burger King serves a better chicken sandwich and hamburger with fries than thos place. Visited Harry’s for the first time. We have been to Malones a couple of times and drakes many times. Went with the intentions to use a gift card we had received as a promotion not realizing it had stipulations to be used Sunday - Thursday and the waitress said the won’ t bend the rules so it is what it is ☹️ I will say the burgers we got were really good. Service was decent we did sit for about 10 minutes before we were greeted and asked for the drink order and it was definitely not busy. Other than that it was good. Also have to say when we walked in the door we were completely ignored when trying to ask a question which is not typical of our previous visits to Malones. I do intend on going back...
