We came in on a Tuesday night Wasn’t very crowded for dinner hours “7pm” Plenty of parking and seating. Restaurant was kept very clean including the bathroom. Waitress was very sweet and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. Friend and I tried the fried pickles always a great choice. I ordered the salmon burger with chicken pasta Was definitely cooked to perfection along with presentation. My friend ordered a brisket sandwich The meat was nice thick chunks and he said was a little dry but it accented the smoked taste he had a side of French Fries he said both were 10/10 definitely would order again. I enjoyed dinner so much I decided to get desert I ordered the Buttermilk Crunch for it was served in a cup nice cold vanilla ice cream on the top and pie and nice warm pie on the bottom. Was very impressed with this place. If my travels every bring me back this way I definitely will be trying more on there menu.

Update 09/2023 For some reason, an order of fries has become really skimpy, and usually cold. 90% of the time we have to ask for some fresh, hot fries. I'm taking back a star since this has happened too often. Always good. The hard part is choosing what I want. I like almost everything on the menu. They have really good salads and sides. The burgoo is worth a trip by itself. The meat is good, but I would prefer a bit more smoke in it.

Family atmosphere, rustic feel to the place. Food was excellent!! The ribs are melt in your mouth, the brisket is slow smoked and delicious and the honey wings are altogether in their own class, the fried corn on the cob was also very well done and prepared nicely, they have fried pickles AND mushrooms. Will be going back for sure!!! Our server Kebrina was ON POINT with our service, ask for her and you won't be disappointed.

I visited Mark's Feed Store on Dixie Highway on a Wednesday so I could try their lunch buffet.

Note: the lunch buffet is only available on Wednesdays and only at the Dixie Highway location.

I arrived at the restaurant at approximately 11:20 AM. I was surprised how busy it was already given that they'd just opened at 11 AM. The hostess seated me quickly. My server, Cindy, arrived and took my drink order. Once I indicated I was there for the buffet, she said I could go to the buffet.

I walked over and while the buffet is small, it has a decent variety of dishes. Pulled pork, pulled chicken, baked beans, chicken wings, fried fish, potato salad, and pasta salad. I had some of most everything since I really wanted to try everything.

I made my way to my table. When Cindy came by to ask if I needed anything, I asked for a bottle of their spicy red BBQ sauce, she brought that quickly.

I had a bite or 2 of the potato salad. It was the red skin potato variety and was very good.

The fish was fresh out of the fryer, and it tasted so good. Had I gone back for seconds, it most likely would have been for a piece of that fish. Tartar sauce was provided but I ate my fish with just a dash of hot sauce and a little more salt.

The pulled pork was good, it had an excellent smoky flavor and would've been good without the sauce. But I have a real liking for their red sauce so I laced the pork with it.

The baked beans were OK. I have been spoiled by good homemade baked beans, but these were pretty good.

The pasta salad was of the bow-tie variety, it had a nice spicy kick to it I enjoyed. It had pieces of chicken in it and some other things, but I was too hungry and ate it quickly. I hadn't eaten yet they day of my visit so this dish bore the brunt of my hunger.

I'm sorry I didn't take any photos, I was really hungry!

So, my overall impression is a positive one. I definitely would eat there again. The price was a reasonable $15 for the buffet.

I wish it were closer and that they had the...

Just had a spur of the moment dinner here a couple of nights ago. It was pretty dead when we went in, which was weird considering it was around dinner time. But that's fine. I would prefer it not to be crowded anyways, it just makes me weary when it's empty.

I haven't been here in many, many years, so I don't remember what the menu used to be like. But I wasn't impressed by the menu. Most BBQ spots have some kind of sausage, and I was disappointed when Mark's didn't. I ordered the 4 rib portions with one side. The ribs we're good. Fall off the bone and nice and soft. The mac and cheese surprised me. Most mac and cheese at restaurants is trash, but it was decent here.

I wish I was a bigger fan of ribs, but I'm just not. Like I said, they were good. But I prefer more choices than just ribs, chicken, and pulled pork.

The best part is the sauce they have on the table. I don't know what is in there, but it's delicious. I would assume my reasoning for not liking a lot of bbq is that I'm not really a huge fan of BBQ sauce. But Mark's BBQ sauce slaps.

It wasn't very expensive. It's like 18 bucks for the 4 ribs and a side. Service was pretty quick. Waitress was very nice. All in all still a decent place to go when most places are dropping...

Man, I guess it was good, mostly the sides. I don't care about their pulled pork, it had no taste and was dry. I had better honestly. Without their sauce it has no taste whatsoever. When you cook meat, mostly pork, you add spices, it doesn't matter if you smother that meat in sauce later, the meat has to have taste before the sauce; and the secret is not to cook it until it tastes like carboard. Their sides are good though. I went back a second time and ordered the wings. Much better choice. The ribs and the burger were good, according to my parents in law. The place wasn't very clean either. If my shoes get sticky on the floor, to me that's not a clean place. The bathroom is another indicator of a restaurant who cares about it's hygiene. I don't want to be mean, but to me that's a big let down to use a dirty bathroom. If I'm spending my money out I want to enjoy every aspect, the food and the clean space. The girls who served were very friendly and checked on us constantly, so the service is good. I'll go back for carry outs...
