La Carreta Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Louisville

My friends, family and I have been a loyal customers for multiple years. Our first few years we had great service and great food. However, the last two years our normal waitress began to take advantage of us. She would leave us for 30 minutes before taking our food order and the same with our ticket to leave. Usually not a huge deal. Annoying yes, but not enough to complain. However, this year the service has hit a new low. Horrible dining experiences multiple times. Once my order was never brought out and I did not even get an apology. Another time my whole parties food never was submitted. No apology. The food has been above average for the most part. However, tonight was the straw that "broke the camel's back." My meal was supposed to have cheese dip on it. There was little to no cheese dip. No big deal. I requested more and told the waitress there was not enough cheese. The waitress brought it to me after about ten minutes of waiting. No apology per usual. Whatever, I got what I wanted. Fast forward to the end of the meal (and again had to wait for our checks) and there was a charge for a small cheese dip. My wife asked why we were charged for a small dip and the waitress replied that it was not her fault that there was not any cheese dip. It was the kitchen's. I told her I would not pay for it because I feel like I should not be charged because the meal was not right when it came out. So instead of causing a scene, we pay for the meal, but say we will not be back. The waitress said alright see ya and mumbled something inaudible under her breath. Before I walk out I tell my wife not to leave a tip. So I guess the cheese dip did become her problem. This place used to be our spot. We were here typically at least once a week. Had parties here. I never have had a problem here but after tonight I will not be returning. I reserved the party room roughly a month ago for 25+ for a Holiday dinner with coworkers nd' family. Out of the big group maybe less than a handful of orders were correct some didn't even recieve their meals, the waiter was not friendly, at the end while we we're conversating and a few we're waiting to pay the waiter comes in and says there's over $200 worth of food here that hasn't been paid for and if it doesn't get paid I'm calling the cops on you ( me since I reserved the room) we hadn't even received our checks at this point. Everyone except a few who chased him down to get their checks or got them from upfront and paid were still in the room waiting for their checks.

He was rude when it came time to leave while I made sure everything was settled and okay before I left and I was met with a you're good to go home now. No apology, nothing. I'm not one for confrontation and I pay for my meals and services but to threaten me like that infront of my kids which scared him alot thinking something bad was going to happen was uncalled for and wrong especially when we were waiting for the checks instead of chasing him down to get it. I will take my business else where which is a shame because the food is always great here. Will be calling to speak to owners asap!!!!!!!!!! The soup was great but tacos very disappointing. Two small tacos with shredded chicken in it. Dry and a lot lettuce honestly Taco Bell makes better taco. Place is cold and loud very uncomfortable. Service was great!!! Been there several times and always disappointed!!! Fried ice cream was best part of the whole meal!!! It was for my husband’s birthday dinner!!! I do not recommend going to this restaurant!!! Over 100.00 better off going to Taco Bell!!! I tried Taco salad, Tacos, rice was dry and not hot. It was sooo cold in this restaurant I ordered soup to warm up my daughter had to put a sweater on that is how cold it was in there. My Sangria wine was mostly ice in it!!!
