VALLEY LIQUORS Express — Local services in Louisville

I’ve come here a time or two in the past with almost no issues, but today was odd. I wanted to swing by to grab some papers from the smoke shop but the door was locked even though the open sign is on. They have a sign that reads “If door is locked use other door” and points toward the liquor store end of the building, so I enter and the man behind the counter stops interacting with the two customers in front of him to greet me, which is great but he proceeded to size me up as if I’m being suspicious walking into his store. I say hi back before browsing, I do not see the papers I need behind the counter but I look around anyway as to not be rude and possibly buy a drink or something. I feel like I’m being intensely watched before I decide I don’t want anything and head toward the door. As I’m leaving, I accidentally brush up against a BuzzBall display, knocking over off one of the drinks. I do the polite thing and pick it up and place it back on the display. The man behind the counter stops talking with the two customers yet again to ask me what’s up, while looking me up and down. I explained I dropped one of the drinks and was putting it back, apologized, and left. I am then FOLLOWED OUTSIDE and stared down by this grown man when all I did was have the audacity to look through his store. I believe I was being profiled for stealing due to possibly the way I was dressed (sweat pants and hoodie). I felt unwelcome and accused of something I didn’t do. Update: Been shopping here a while and I just can't do it anymore. I used to buy about 120+ cigars here each month. Now I'm done. Too many employees over the years stealing money from me. Every time I come in the price is different. I thought you know maybe just one employee stealing but now I know. The only ones that ring up the correct price and tell you the correct change are the young lady that works in the smoke shop during the days and the owner himself. I'm done, I'll drive to the east end to keep buying them. It sucks but I'm literally saving $12 every purchase by going somewhere else. Anyone who shops here just a heads up pay attention to what you're being charged and your change. They do what ever they want!

Awesome liquor store. They have pretty much anything you need or want from a liquor store. If they don't have it they can get it for you most of the time. Super nice owners and they seem like that actually do want to make you happy. Thanks for always making things quick...

The store has a wide variety to choose from and is ran by a group of very friendly people who are even though ice enough that they will let you owe them if you don't have enough to buy something if you're one of the regulars cuz as long as you shop with them and keep coming back then they're going to keep making happy customers. Only time I've ever been upset leaving the store is every time I have to ask them to let me bring some change back because they're so nice and I feel bad for having to ask them to let me owe them a quarter or a nickel here and there but always bring it back and they're always happy to see me and there worling to meet...
