Always great to support local, small businesses!
What is great about Paul's is the no-nonsense atmosphere, ecelectic furniture, extensive beverage options, and ample pastry/food choices. They roast their own coffee beans, so you may pick up a bag of whole beans to take home. (Pick up a bag on Sunday and get a free latte!) Their custom blends have music-related names like "Bebop" "Rock Steady" and "Bluegrass Breakfast."
Speaking of bluegrass, if you come on a Saturday afternoon, there is a group of local musicians and singers who play bluegrass tunes for about three hours (usually 1-4pm). This dominance of space by the musicians may be a nuisance to some; others find it a joy to ears and hearts.
If you don't come on a Saturday afternoon, you will be treated to friendly baristas and laid back atmosphere. If you come when Alex or Matt are working, you will be delighted.

Read moreA community necessity - coffee crafted with love! Wonderfully roasted in-house coffee, and lovely drinks brewed to enjoy there. Enjoyed a lovely, aromatic maple cardamom chai with a wonderful slice of pumpkin bread with chocolate chips. HIGHLY recommend both! Purchased 1lb of Ethiopian light roast following the recommendation of who I assume is the owner. He asked my personal coffee preferences and was able to suggest two selections that would hit the mark. I purchased his personal favorite of those two, then the staff ground them specifically for my aeropress. I am currently enjoying my first cup of the batch while I type this, and spoiler alert - it’s spectacular. I’m excited to go back and try the other recommendation.
It’s clear the staff is cared for, well equipped for their job, and enjoy providing excellent service. I look forward to...
Read morePaul's is where it's at. I have been working from home for a few years now and recently (at long last) started heading to Paul's for a few hours in the morning/early afternoon a few days a week. This place is great. I don't order anything crazy, usually an americano or a simple latte, but it's always good. From what I understand, everything is roasted there (by Paul?) and they do a great job! The staff is friendly and the vibe is great (definitely not pretentious like some coffee places can tend to be). Definitely my go-to, and not just because it's close to the house (though that doesn't hurt).
Update: a year later and while I don't get in as much as I used to, I get all my beans for brewing at home from Paul's. Consistently good and plenty of options. Try the Sumatra or...
