The Bakery at Sullivan — Restaurant in Louisville

I just happened to see this place while in Louisville yesterday and decided to check it out. First impressions: The place looked clean, and the food looked delicious. The people working there were very friendly, helpful, and patient. A thank you to Kyle T. who boxed our order and answered most of our questions. We ordered several things to take home and try. We tried the Blondie, the Spinach and Feta Croissant, the Brisket and Cheese Kolache, the Cruffin, and some macarons that were Strawberry and Cream and Vanilla bean flavored. Everything was really good. The Cruffin had a coating of cinnamon and sugar on the outside with apple butter/ sauce in the middle. The only thing that could have taken that over the top for me would have been if it had had a light pastry cream in the middle similar to a churro flavor. The Macarons were absolute perfection the only thing I was left wanting was a chocolate one lol. The Brisket Kolache was delicious and made a great lunch the next day. Traveling through the area and stopped to charge our Tesla. Hard to explain just how beautiful the whole experience was. It was mid to late afternoon and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly! Literally felt like the girl invited us into her kitchen and was excited to share their home and passion for baking. It's like we went in for baked goods and instead met love! These kind of experiences are few and far between!

Oh! And the review of the baked goods.... off the charts! I was so excited to see hummingbird cake which I have rarely found. I remember experiencing it as a teenager in my uncle's restaurant and absolutely loved it. And this was phenomenal. Also had a peach crumble, might not have the name quite right. Just the right level of sweetness with this light peach flavor spread throughout.

Hands down one of the best local bakery experiences...

I have used The Bakery for my older daughter's Sweet 16 and used them again December 7th for my younger daughters also. The cake I just received was not only absolutely beautiful it was delicious too! It was difficult to bring myself to cut it as it was like a piece of art work. The Manager Robin sat down with me and my daughter and drew her design. I will continue to order cakes from The Bakery and to tell all of my friends to use them too. The day before my daughter's Sweet 16 we had unusual weather with ice and snow, Robin called me about delivering my cake since she was concerned about the weather and wanted to make sure that it was going to be delivered ahead of our upcoming storm.
